robt51 - I second that.
Jane - I am envious. Have a great time.

I’m really excited to be going! The planets have aligned and everything is (hopefully) in its proper place 🤞

I hope you enjoyed your visit Janeypoppet! 🙂
I was planning on saying hello, but i must have missed you by the time I finished the yoga class and spent some time in the sauna / steam room & turkish suite.

I did, indeed, have a wonderful time Naked_Archer! I had to leave early, in order to catch the 2100 train though, so I'm sorry to have missed you!
I'm going to write a wee summary of my visit, so I'll post it later on here later 🙂

So, I finally made it along to Glasgow Continental at The Arlington Baths yesterday! I am very glad to say that I had a wonderful time.
This was my first time naked in a mixed gender environment, so I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to feel. Turned out I was absolutely fine – no nerves or anything. It’s been so long since I’ve been in a swimming pool setting though, I think I was just afraid of slipping and falling (it has happened before - I can be very clumsy!), so if I looked a little uncertain, it was because of that. There is plenty of safety matting around the pool though.
How impressive is The Arlington Baths?!!! Absolutely gorgeous! I did find the layout a bit confusing though, and I never did find the baths room again…literally - a room with very deep baths where you can soak away to your heart’s content! The Turkish rooms were really impressive. I’m going to have to find a way to get comfortable on those benches though! The sauna and steam rooms were very hot, so a quick 5 minutes here and there were all I could manage – but I really enjoyed them too.
I think what I liked most about the evening, was going up to the coffee room and just sitting and chatting with people! I’m quite a blether, so this really suited me 😉 The room is lovely and warm and not once did I feel chilly or like I needed to cover up – perfect!
What I also really appreciated was the ladies’ changing room. A large, comfy room where women can get changed, dry their hair etc. without having to scramble around for clothes or battle for room on a bench/seat. I think that only one other woman used it, whom I didn’t see, and then as I was getting ready to leave, the yoga teacher came in after her classes and we had a little chat. So, if there are any women feeling a bit nervous about going, or feel that you’d like a little privacy to get dressed, this is the ideal place to go. There are so many comfy seats in there too!
Unfortunately, I had to leave early, due to getting the train. But I was there for over two hours, and felt as though I had tried out everything I had wanted to (except maybe the baths!) I met so many nice people, all of whom made me feel very at ease and welcome. Thank you, everyone - you know who you are! I have to apologise for when we meet again though, as I might not remember names! My middle-aged brain fog seems to kick into gear and I end up incapable of remembering anything!!! I’m also sorry I didn’t get a chance to speak to some people, due to being in a different room, or doing different activities.

Hi Jane.
So glad you got along to Arlington and enjoyed it, I thought you would. They are a great crowd there and like you, we enjoy a visit and a good blether in the coffeetea room along with the rest of the facilities.
Hopefully we will see you there soon when we can get down again.

Well done Jane and thanks for sharing your experience. I hope to give it a try next Sunday, if I can find somewhere reasonable to stay, as finishing at 9pm and then having a two to three hour drive home is a bit too much for me. If anybody knows of a nice B&B close to the baths, I would appreciate a recommendation.
Janey's post makes me wish Glasgow was a bit closer to South Wales.

I’m glad you enjoyed it Jane, I’ll be going for the first time next Sunday, hopefully with Mrs D
Thank you for the feed back, Jane, it was very informative and appreciated. All I need now is for someone to re-align my planets so I can come along. The venue sounds amazing.

Thanks for letting us know about your experience, I hadn't realised that there were baths and saunas as well as the swimming pool, it really sounds impressive. I'm going to try to get along, the last few weekends have been really busy but I'll try to get something organised before Christmas.
Thanks for sharing your first time experiences Janey! Only 4 more weeks of the swims left till the Christmas closure! So if anyone is wanting to come along this year, better do it sooner than later! 🙂
Olderman76, there is a Premier Inn at Charingcross if that helps any? I haven't used it myself, but there also seems to be plenty of accommodation options around Charing Cross, which isn't far from the Arlington Baths.
There is certainly lots to see and do at the swim, Jamie. The first time I visited last year I ended up getting lost in the rabbit warren  Two saunas (the upstairs one is for gents only), steam room, poolside sauna, Turkish Suite, baths, plus shower area with needle showers! Certainly worth a visit!
Thanks for the info regarding the Premier Inn at Charing Cross.
Can't see me making the swim on the 26th November, as this week I've mostly been recovering from the winter vomiting bug which as been going round the office at work. 🙁
