After finishing a nightshift this morning, I decided to visit a beach that I've been to a few times to check out the viability of shedding my clothes. At the far end is large rocky outcrop and takes a good 30-45 minutes to walk to.
With the dog in tow, I stuck a towel and a pair of swimming trunks in my rucksack and headed off with the logic of it being a Monday morning there shouldn't be too many people on the beach. Sure enough when I got there, there was a guy walking his dog and an elderly lady with her two dogs. The guy disappeared into the nature reserve at the back of the beach and I easily out paced the lady.
When I got to the rocky outcrop I found a perfect little cove about 2 m x 4m, bingo. I checked to see if it was overlooked, which it wasn't, and I had a good view down the entire length of the beach. I managed about half an hour before the guy with his dog appeared a few hundred yards away. Cue me shuffling into my trunks until he passed.
Unfortunately the clouds started to roll in and I had to end my first naturist visit to St. Cyrus beach, but I've found a little gem and I'll be back.

Oooh, this sounds good DnD, even if it was over a year ago! Have you been back since?

No I’ve not been back, mostly due to the fact that our dog sadly died earlier this year and that was where we used to walk him but also I’ve been to Kinshaldy and it’s really good 👍🏻 The only snag with St Cyrus beach is the vast majority of it is overlooked by cliffs and there is only the far end (north end) that is remotely suitable and that was because I got there as the tide was going out. A word of warning the north end does get cut off by the tide so if you do go, check the tide times and keep an eye on it or you’ll be stranded until the tide turns😳
I was actually going to ask you about Balmeadie😂

I might give that beach a miss then! I never knew St Cyrus even had a beach tho! Hopefully I’ll get a chance to visit other beaches next year. So far I’ve only been to Balmedie, Tentsmuir and one down in Cornwall.

Yeah, Tentsmuir is definitely better, I can’t comment on Balmeadie, but I saw your directions so wh n the weather improves I’ll give it a go

I glad to have read your report DnD. I've been wanting to check St Cyrus out for a while but I think I'll just forget about it as far as naturism is concerned and stick to Tentsmuirkinshaldy beach.

Hi Rob, it’s a great beach but Tentsmuir is much better for naturism as is Balmeadie (I believe)

Nothing like finding a new spot to do some tanning. Think I will pack my tent and travel up north this year and see if I can find any.
