Hi all,
I live in Edinburgh and am very new to naturism.
I had my first naturist meet with a couple of people I met on another forum yesterday.
I was nervous at the start but soon relaxed and enjoyed it.

Hi Cygnus! Do you know about the swim at The Arlington, in Glasgow? You’ll find it mentioned on this thread quite a bit. It’s run by Glasgow Continental. It’s a wonderful place, and great to meet people. I’ve mentioned in a previous post that there’s an unofficial meet and greet on 11th February beforehand at The Coffee Pod on Woodland Road from 4.30-5.30pm - that would be a great opportunity to meet new people, then go along to the swim. Check out their website http://www.scotnaturist.freeservers.com/swim.html
A few of us will be there - I’m planning to get to the meet and greet. It’ll only be my second time at the swim, so I’m new to this too!

Any plans for a revisit to the Arlington, now that the pesky snow seems to be away? I may be up for a visit myself on the 11th of February. 🙂
Yup! I’ll be going then too 😊 Did you get the email I sent? There’s the meet and greet too, at The Coffee Pod on Woodland Road from 4.30-5-40pm. Everyone welcome.
I got the email, yes!
May not be able to make it through to Glasgow in time for the meet and greet, however I am hoping to be at the swim on the 11th of Feb.
(Assuming i can get car brakes fixed between now and then.... )

Thanks! Yes, I know about that swim. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to make it that day but I do hope to get there at some point.
This is from the BN forum, about an upcoming event in Edinburgh. I thought it may be of interest.
Hello everybody,
I am having another exhibition of my prints from my recently published book Naked Britain at Gallery Close in Edinburgh, Scotland between 3rd March and 3rd April 2018.
I will be hosting a clothing optional viewing at the gallery on Saturday 3rd March 2018 between 2-4pm.
I will also be doing a book signing during this time.
The address for the gallery is Gallery Close, 4B Howe St, Edinburgh, EH3 6TD
If anyone would like to attend please email info@ameliaallenphotography.co.uk.
I don't know many Naturists in Scotland as I am based in London and travelled to around 6 clubs and lots of events in England when photographing my book. However if you have any friends/ know of any naturists who might be interested in coming along please send them my way.
Here is a little information on the book.
Naked Britain was published internationally on 3rd November 2017 and I had a solo exhibition of limited edition prints from the book at the Herrick Gallery in Mayfair, London for the launch. The book is a sociological documentary on British Naturism which I have spent the last 2 years shooting. It is a look at modern day attitudes to body image and complete opposite view of nudity that we usually see in the media and fashion industry.
The book received international press including a TV interview on BBC World News and Radio Interview on BBC Radio London as well as magazine and newspaper interviews in The Telegraph, The Daily Mail, Cosmopolitan, Refinery29, Garage Vice, Metro etc. You can see some of the selected press here http://www.ameliaallenphotography.com/nakedbritainpress
The book is currently stocked in Waterstones, The Photographer's Gallery, Amazon in UK, Europe and USA, Foyles and several other art bookshops throughout Europe.
I photographed the book naked and joined BN and have written about this in the book itself and how it changed my perception of and relationship with my body, body image in general, sexuality and the industry.
You can see some images from the book and exhibition here. http://www.ameliaallenphotography.com/naked-britain-private-images
Looking forward to hearing from some of you.
Warmest wishes,
Amelia x
Oh! How wonderful that an event like that is happening in Edinburgh! But, also, how frustrating that I have another event on that day 😟
I’ve got the book, and it is a wonderful insight into the clothes free life we all enjoy. I really hope the exhibition is a success.

That does sound interesting though not sure I'm ready to go to something like that yet 🙂
Any idea if there'll be press photographers there? It would be a definite no for me if there are.
I hope this is a great success and hopefully we’ll get along to see it but unfortunately we have a close family member who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer so life is revolving around him at the moment.

The post says it’s a clothing optional event, which means it would be completely up to you to either keep your clothes on, or take them off.
Dave - Nice to have you back 😊 I’m so sorry to hear your sad news. I’ll be thinking of you and Donna at this hard time.

Sorry, I meant I don't think I would be ready to be naked at something like that yet. I wouldn't have a problem being fully clothed at it.

I see! No problem, I know what you mean. I’d like to think I could just strip off, but not sure I could, if we’d be fully visible from outside! It would be great if you could attend. Great to support something like this. Just wish I could go.

oh I didn't even think about being visible from outside lol
yeah, I definitely wouldn't be naked if that's the case
Working that day, sadly. Although is it a BN event? Seeing as I have let my BN membership lapse, that may have meant I wouldn't be able to attend had I been avalable anyway.
Does anyone know if you need to be a BN member or can anyone attend ?
I love being in my skin
