I know it's a pain when you want to try being a naturist in the UK, smaller areas of certain beaches attract some predatory behaviour Holkham is a case in point, the setting was ideal a few years ago when we could use the dunes in our designated area, but that all has changed now and for new naturists what's on offer it not inviting at all. I live about 6 miles away so I'm not at all happy.
Fewer naturist go and the predators have increased, it seems that before more naturists scared them off or other more seasoned naturists told them to B... ..F

Fortunately, at sometimes unfortunately, we live in a free(ish) country where people can generally go where they like excepting Downing Street and a few places like Porton Down. So UK naturist beaches, or more correctly, those recognised as having naturist use, because of their comparative rarity value is an open invite to every pest of whatever persuasion to go along and be a nuisance. Not always. Not always at the same time as you. But it may happen. A well used beach like Studland will be OK as you have thousands there on a good day. Plonk yourself within eyeline of a family and no problem. On our two visits to Norfolk we looked forward to finally getting to Holkham because we assumed because of the official status there would be lots of people there and we could fully relax unlike Fraisthorpe up here. How wrong were we. On a nice warm day on a Saturday, there should have been more than the six men there including an out and out pest. Maybe try the huge out of the way beaches already mentioned on here. Or just go to a club or naturist resort like Dilly Dally's  or Pevors. Even a seasoned nude like me is fed up with UK beaches. My naturism is now largely restricted to a local swim, a week here in a club or resort, maybe a weekend if I am lucky at another club, and two weeks abroad.

It's not just Holkham, many beaches are spoilt by elements which make it difficult to relax very much excepting a very few. Having seen something of the vastness of East Anglia beaches, it may be better to try unclassified ones for want of a better term as described on this thread as the meerkat brigade won't know you are there. We are not 'that' bothered about beach time if plans go ahead of staying a week at Broadlands come to pass in the summer. We shall just go back there to relax in the afternoons after tripping out in the mornings. It is so different abroad, in feeling safe, I spent hours alone at Valalta when he went off on a hired bike, and another time was alone for a while on the Hvar Island beach with the beach stuff while he changed money and came on the next taxi boat. But I wouldn't feel safe on a beach alone here unless there was a lot of other people.

Its interesting that people visit crowded beaches and then feel threatened.  Why seek out crowds if you don't like the behaviour of some?  Holkham beach with its crowds and expensive car park is just a tiny bit of the North Norfolk coast - no need to go there when there are miles of beautiful coast to the East.  Warham, Stiffkey, Morston etc.  True the Coastal Footpath runs along the saltmarshes, but there are many footpaths leading from it out to the sea and you're highly unlikely to encounter anyone apart from the odd bait digger pushing his bike with a sack of cockles or tray of lugworms tied to it!  John.

I would like to make clear that whether a beach is well used by naturists and non naturists or not makes no difference to me if it was congenial but unfortunately on my coastline there is nowhere similar to the Norfolk beaches where we could go for the same sort of experience described. For one thing coast erosion is a 'slight' problem making large parts inaccessible. We did a trip to Easington mentioned in Bare Britain and found it was a non starter. We couldn't even climb down. Much has been built on and or overlooked and though Fraisthorpe when the tide is out is a huge beach there is always other people there dog walking. If it was a well accepted beach which was actually used as a beach as opposed to a mainly dog playground then I would be quite happy there. I had thought that there would be many more people, naturist and not on Holkham on a Saturday then there actually was as I was thinking after some dodgy experiences up here there would be safety in numbers,  but in the event there was six guys including two masturbators. Now if we were to try again, we'd try the other locations mentioned.

We didn't even bother with using Holkham naturist beach last summer. What unsociable behaviour that used to go on in the now forbidden dunes area is now openly practiced on the officially designated beach section down by the water.
The wardens do their best to patrol and will act on information given and call out the police to arrest ( As I witnessed in 2016 ). So don't be afraid to call the authorities if need be. However, even doing this doesn't improve the reputation of Holkham with the authorities in my view.
As a poster pointed out above, there are plenty of wide open, secluded beach areas in North Norfolk to sunbath nude without being seen or causing offence to anyone. Try these.

We are going to north Norfolk at the end of June, and although it isn't going to be a naturist holiday if the opportunity to be naked on the odd day comes up then we may take it. I have chatted to other NCers, and they confirm what you say, there are plenty if private places to spend a few hours naked without going to Holkham, but saying that the purpose of the holiday is to walk the coast path so we may go there with our clothes on.

We love Norfolk because it is possible to have a great holiday even without naturism, the coastal walks and scenery is about the best I have seen. And the towns like Sheringham, Wells and Holt are really charming.

Brigitte, if you find yourselves in Holt a visit to Black Apollo coffee shop is a must.  The cakes are gorgeous and the coffee the best anywhere.  Try a cortado - you'll think you're in Spain drinking cafe con leche!  John.

Thanks for the tip! We had a look around Holt before heading back home to look at the Georgian buildings but hopefully will spend longer there.

Wife and I hope to pop up to North Norfolk mid week as the weather looks set fair. We just might give Holkham beach another look in after a nice walk.

The forecast for next week does look for next week, we might actually get some sun on our white bits and visit some of the  places mentioned.
