I met up with friends yesterday near the Ladybower Inn to do a run / walk over the tops, drop down to derwent water and then climb over Kinder Scout and Win Hill. A trek of about 16 miles. We arrived at 8.30a.m. and had scaled the slope by around 9.00. The next 6 miles we never saw another person. Perfect for nude walking. My friends are textiles so we kept our kit on but I plan to head back on Tuesday to do part of the route naked. The views are jaw dropping and the going pretty easy once the climb is behind you. Anyone else any experience of nude rambling in the peaks? My friends are regular long distance runners in the area and say that it is entirely typical to see no one for hours. Though the area is popular with day trippers and tourists few of them seem to venture far from the car patks and ice cream vans. Fine by me as I much prefer to avoid encounters while in the buff. The weather is forecast 22 degrees on Tuesday so I cant wait. Will update with how I get on.

Went for a swim up at Slippery Stones above the reservoirs today. In this weather and being the weekend it was busy with textiles, but mid-week I have occasioned the odd skinny dip there without disturbance, remarkable to say how popular it is at weekends and in holiday periods.

There are plenty of places to go in the Peak District, just avoid the tourist hot spots. If heading down to Ladybower then Cutthroat Bridge is a good starting point during the week or even higher up the A57 Moscar Flat and go along the Sheffield Country Walk to Nigh Neb. Very very busy on a warm weekend but again dead during the week, might come across a few climbers in the evenings.

Just a warning if you think you are alone in the Peak District at the moment. Moors for the future are posting fire watchers on the higher peaks, give em a wave.

Set out today for a 20 mile walk that I hoped to do much of naked. My wife dropped me off at Redmires Resevoir and I walked about a mile round to Oaking Clough. Stripped off here and then headed up onto Hallam Moor and out to Stanage. About 3 miles naked. Dressed again as I reached Stanage Edge then headed down to where the A57 meets the Strines road. At this point there is a small cottage and farm building marking the start of a public footpath. Once past the buildings I stripped off again and headed up the slope. At the top I stopped for a picnic lunch and had a look around with the binocs. Though not busy I could see 4 small groups heading towards me so decided to get dressed and head towards Back Tor. From here it was possible to go naked towards the Strines Resevoir and then head down towards the road that leads to the Strines Pub. A section of the path is private but I ignored that. Approaching the road after about 2 miles naked walking  I dressed and headed for a pint and water bottle top up at the Strines. Avoiding the temptation to have a second pint I set out again. 200m along the road a footpath heads up to Strines Edge. This section was marvellous. Naked all the way along the ridge for about 3 miles until reaching the original small cottage and farm. From here I retraced my route,  naked all the way from Stanage down towards Redmires. A marvellous adventure with almost half of it naked and no awkward encounters.

Sounds great
I rode my bike around Derwent and Howden reservoirs last month a lot of which I did ‘freewheeling’ 😉
It got busy towards lunch time, so I got dressed and went home.

Great day

I was out on Tuesday afternoon. From the Strines road walked along Dukes Road (Track) almost to Back Tor. Seconds after I parked up a lady pulled up right in front of my car. She got out and I could see see was out for a fell run. After she set of I waited a few minutes then set of up the track. She was well ahead, I took shorts just in case she came back the same route which after 6km I spotted her coming back.

Now the dilemma was do I cover up or just carry on. I kept walking but as she grew closer I did pop the shorts on until she went past me then took them off again. She past me with that smile that says it all and a pleasant hello. I wish I'd had the nerve to not pop the shorts on but at the back of my mind all I could think off is the News.

I didn't see anyone else, then walked all the way back to the car which by this point I totally forgot I was naked and wanted a picture of the sun on the trail and the gates. Grabbed my phone tuned around to go back to the gates, and its as if the M1 had just been diverted along the Strines. Got to the gates took some photos and out of the sun came someone on a quad bike in full silhouette with the sun behind them but no doubt had full clear view of me. I returned to the car having had a wonderful late afternoon walk.

I did try posting this yesterday with a couple of photos but the site said there was an error with the attachments. Don't know how you add photos, they weren't big files. I'll try again and see.

okay I get "Your attachment has failed security checks and cannot be uploaded. Please consult the forum administrator." when I add jpg files.

[gmod]You can only add jpg, jpeg, gif, png image files and they must be less than 1Mb. If what you have complies with that then please post an issue in the Forum Help Centre. [/gmod]

Did the same walk again yesterday, this time from the Strines road all the way up Dukes Drive (track) to Back Tor, then back.

Saw a couple walking up in front of me but they turn off and disappeared then the only other people I saw was the far side of Back Tor. After i'd taken some photos around the trig point, had I drink and decided to head back I could just see them walking towards me. I think they must have headed down to Lost Lad as I didn't see anyone then while walking back.

Such a beautiful part of the Peak District and as it was so clear you can see for miles.

I had a wonderful day, the only time I wore any clothes all day was driving there and back. I work at home so that was from getting up in the morning to going to bed. It is an eco way of life, as the only washing gone in this morning is towels, pair of shorts and a tee shirt.  🙂
