having been nude on occasions in the house and garden but not in public my wife and I have just had a short break in Essex on the coast.my wife is not into naturism but I am .there is an official naturist beach where we stayed but was so hard to find so I gave up in the end.so on the second day we went down to the beach nearest our caravan,it was hot and sunny ,very little breeze,the beach was empty so we set up for a stay and I took my shirt and shorts off to be totally nude,the feeling was amazing,during the stay half a dozen female dog walkers came to the beach ,my wife warned me but I stayed nude ,I even went to walk in the sea whilst they looked.. my wife even went topless for a while which she has never done before which I loved.hopefully more trips like this in the future.

I think, (in my opinion) the best approach is to make it obvious you are naked but not be too blatant.
You were right to use the part of the beach you chose, as there is no such thing as a 'designated' 'official', whatever they like to call it beach. All beaches may be used in what ever state of dress (or undress) you choose.
