We're also heading to North Norfolk next sunday , having had such a lovely time last July. I notice you can walk the salt marshes from Burnham Overy Staithe which takes you to the dunes at Holkham from the western side, so might give that a try . We love the big spaces out there and the wildlife is amazing, particularly if you like birds.
It's a lovely walk from Burnham Overy Staithe to the beach, albeit a vey long one. The footpath is well maintained.
Easy to park, as long as you get there early and the parking in Burnham Overy is free too, unlike Holkham. Just be mindful the large parking area by the water can flood during high tides.
You can either walk and come out on the beach at Burnham Gap or walk through the dunes behind the beach which is also very pleasant.
Anyone know if the naturist part is still cordoned off to just the beach ? Seemed to get narrower and narrower last summer.
use the search button" Holkham beach" to find out more history

Yes it is, nothing is different. See the other Holkham thread for more info.
Hi all. Good to be with you, this is my first post. Regarding Holkham beach it has been totally ruined for naturism with nudity only allowed between the high and low water marks. A better bet in my opinion is Holme dunes, plenty of space and very quiet. One day at Holkham beach we were asked to cover up!!!.

When was it that you were asked to cover up
Naturism was banned for a while because of inappropriate activity in the dunes. The ban was later lifted following negotiations between the Holkham Estate and BN and it is allowed on the beach in an area within signs indicating that it is a naturist area. Nudity is not allowed in the dunes

BN have got a beach day there on Sunday, weather forecast is dreadful!

That's a real shame when the weather has been so good for so long. Hope it livens up again for the weekend after when we go to Norfolk.

Hi all. This is my first post as a new member. Regarding Holkam beach, we were regular visitors at one point a few years ago, but the naturist beach is all but "shut", the only place nudity is allowed is the beach between the mean high and low water marks, nudity in the dunes is frowned on. A better venue is Holme dunes, plenty of space and no body seems to care about nudity. By the way the only place I have been asked to cover up was on Holkam nudist beach!!!

About ten years ago. I was walking along the beach and a lady wi two children took exception to my nakedness.
Hi We have been to Corton within the last couple of years, but are you aware that due to a by law change any beach within Waveny council is open for nude bathing. I use Pakefield, Check it out with BN.

I think according to the forecast you should be lucky Brigitte. Fingers crossed! Don't forget Black Apollo in Holt - the Portuguese custard tarts are to die for, never mind the coffee!
We're about to start cultivations after harvest, so no beach days for me for a couple of months.

Yeah I've come across at that beach , a guy he would only talk to me if I was with my girlfriend . He was very homophobic and a control freak he though he owned beach . He told me the gay people sit on the left and rest on the right side of the beach . Hopefully we won't See him next week . 🙂
