Our first nudist experience came some 15 years ago when we purchased a 'vintage' converted 1976 Ford Transit ambulance. The previous owner had spent almost the whole summer laid up on Shell Island and recommended it to us as somewhere we might try. Not too far from Shropshire, we took his advice and took her on her first trip out. It was a lovely drive - the V6 3 litre petrol engine burbled away under the bonnet, and I managed to get a speeding ticket, of which I was quite proud. We'd been camping many times before and loved to be by the sea and the 'pitch where you like' idea idea at Morfa really appealed, and we got a spot with room enough just for us, in a little cove overlooking the sea. Of course we took a walk along the beach at the first opportunity and stumbled across the warning signs at the nudist area. We stopped and looked at each other with raised eyebrows, never having done anything like this before. It didn't take much thought before we decided 'what the heck' and stripped off to continue our walk. The feel of the sea breeze in places where the sun doesn't usually shine was wonderful. It felt liberating, yet at the same time a little naughty. We grinned to ourselves as we walked. There were only about half a dozen other couples on the whole beach, so there were no close encounters. After a while we found somewhere sheltered to sit for a while, dump our clothes and try for a dip. Why is dipping yourself in the sea off Morfa always so much colder without trunks than it is with them? It must have taken each of us 15 minutes to finally get submerged as we gingerly lowered ourselves into the water a bit at a time - squeaking when a wave caught us by surprise. Swimming naked was another whole new thing, and also delicious. Back on the beach, we lay down to dry off in the sun and became aware of a couple of heads peering at us from the dunes. We chuckled as we wondered which of us they were spying on! That was our first experience of nudism. Be both loved it and went back for more. I certainly found it was an experience I wanted to evangelise about, but a couple of discrete comments passed to close friends revealed that most do not understand, so we keep it to ourselves now.

A great story thanks for sharing - i love morfa dyffryn myself not been for a couple of years so am gonna try and make the trip in a couple of weeks - for me the complete feeling of freedom being naked in a vast open space is hard to describe , but i am sure many on here will understand what i am trying to say  :).

Nice story AngleseyCpl. I like Morfa and I've been a few times but my wife won't join me. She once walked along the beach with me from the Barmouth end but when she realised we were getting close to a naturist area she wouldn't go any further and we had to turn around and walk back. She knows I have been on my own but it is two and a half hours away so a long drive into Wales on my own is hard to justify. I generally have to make do with house and garden, which she accepts, but I do hope to get over there sometime this year.

Morfa Dyffryn is a great beach. Only 90 mins from me, so I try and get up there as and when time allows. Stopping to pick up some sarnies enroute to eat on the beach.

It's about 90 minutes from me too, despite having moved to live on the Welsh coast. Not made it this year I'm afraid. Maybe next, unless we have some freak weather between now and then.
Welcome aboard Tom
