That's a lovely story Codge! That the dream for every naturist guy having a textile wife (like me). By the way, I see I'm not the only man in that case.  😉

Now I (and maybe others) would like to know what happens now. Is your wife definitely turned to naturism now? What is a one-shot event?

We have progressed a little further now.  My Wife was totally naked for the first time at Studland on Friday 20 July.  She loves Studland and always makes the suggestion that we go there regularly and encourages my nudity.

Although she was naked, laid on her back in the sun, she was surrounded by a large umbrella, two deck chairs, two backpacks, a cool bag for the food and the beach tent behind her.  She refused to stand up and constantly hid her "bits" from view if anyone passed by.

On our next visit on Monday 23 July we have to take the windbreak as well.
I'm keeping my deck chair outside of her "stockade" so I can enjoy the views.  So yes she was naked, but you wouldn't have known she was there.
12 months ago she was totally textile and wouldn't have entertained any nudity at all.  She said she will continue to strip off as long as she is not seen.
I am grateful that she has got that far. But I think that's as far as it goes.

Keep telling her how beautiful she looks nude. It will give her more confidence. Before you know it she will be wanting to be naked all the time 🙂 x

Couldn’t agree more Susan. I adore my wife and she has grown in confidence the more we are naked, telling how lovely she is has been part of that process. Now we have been naturist for more than fifteen years she wonders why we didn’t start earlier. Seeing all the different shapes of women and men on naturist beaches etc. has also given her confidence in her own body...which I love looking at- but then I am biased!

Hi Susan
Yes I do keep telling her how lovely she looks nude and what beautiful legs she has.  I tell her so many times I think my compliments just bounce off her now.
She will readily go into the garden and lay there totally nude on a sun lounger, even if I'm not at home, which I encourage her to do.

Her best friends are nudies of many years experience, and I offered to take them with us to Studland (wifes favourite beach) so that she has a female with her, but she won't even entertain that.  They dont talk about nudism when they are together (seems a taboo subject).  My Wife is an incredibly shy and private nudist outside of the home environment.

We often see other couples meeting up with friends at Studland and its something I would enjoy just to talk and have time with, but this is not for her as others would see her without her clothes.  She is a very friendly person and makes friends easily and doesn't mind talking to others whilst on the beach, but only if she has clothes on.

Until we started to go to Studland earlier this year, my Wife had never in her life seen another naked man or woman, so that was a "first" for her.
We always go for walk along the shore, me naked and her with her swimming cozy.  She's not embarassed to see others naked and we will sometimes stop and speak briefly to others we meet on the way, but she definitely does not want anyone seeing her nude.
She won't even go topless for a brief spell, which is something you can see these days even on the textile beach at Studland.

I does surprise me that she will not go to a nudie beach with her best friend.
I would take them there and leave them to have a good time on their own if I thought that would give her more confidence.  I and my best friends husband could park ourselves a few hundred yards further along the beach, so they have a bit of privacy, but I dont think that will do.
I've bought a four wheeled pull along garden cart now to take all of our home comforts and other bits to make a private area for her to lay in. I'm sitting outside in my deckchair.
I hope I remember the password to enter her stockade, (only joking).
Happy nudie, best wishes.

Hi Codge,
My wife is pretty much the same - except for the stockade thing!
Sounds like we both have nudist wives, and that is great. What we need to be careful of is trying to get them to become exhibitionist wifes too. She's got her clothes off - which is what nudism is about.
I'm a more sociable nudist too, but she just isn't. She enjoys the feeling of being naked outdoors, but feels no inclination to share that with anyone but me. I have to respect that. On the plus side, she is perfectly fine with me being sociable - including visiting swim clubs and meeting friends on my own.
It's tricky, but patience and understanding will win the day and not just compliments alone.

It’s always a good thing when a couple can share interests; whatever they are.

I doubt there will be a reversal in her approach as, let’s face it, it’s a great feeling. But you may want to go for that clothing optional holiday now?

I took my (now) wife to Charcoal del Palo a few years after we met, once she knew I was a naturist. The first morning I came out of the apartment, after making breakfast, to find her sitting at the table totally naked.

I obviously looked shocked, she just looked at me and said “well I’m here, I may as well join you”.

Been on a few more, less surprising, naturist holidays since.

For our first holiday to a naturist beach my wife bought some bikini knickers to wear as she was OK with going topless. (Suitable bikini swimsuits were ridiculously expensive in those days.)
She wore them for a couple of hours on the first morning before discarding them completely for the remainder of that and all subsequent holidays.

Well, as far as a nudie holiday abroad or anywhere else for that matter, I just cant see my Wife stripping off.  She will not spend money at a nudie holiday resort, just to keep her clothes on.  If she will not even go topless amongst other nudies, she will not go any further than she has done now.

I will not push her to do more, as she will then refuse to entertain anything.
She is a very willing total nudie in our garden, and at Studland albeit shielded.  The nude bit at Studland has only happened on our last visit,  all other times she has changed into a bathing suit and remained so.  So we have made some progress.
I would like her to go topless in the open, just to start with, then after many more visits, she may take her knickers off but I have my doubts.  But I cant fathom the workings of the female mind !

Thank you so much for your kind replies.  Any other contributions are gratefully accepted.  I promise to keep you posted on developments.
Codge.

The Rui Olivia hotel on Fuerteventura is an all-inclusive featured in the Thompson brochure and viewable on-line here.
You will notice that, as usual, the web site entry makes no mention of the fact that the hotel is in the middle of a three mile long clothing-optional beach.
It might be a suitable holiday destination for your purposes.

Codge, it sounds like your wife is taking things at her own pace, which is a good thing. Allowing her to be comfortable in her 'stockade' as you put it, will lead on to her being more comfortable being nude outside of it. Leave her be and she will become a more confident naturist in her own time. I speak from experience, as my wife is a 'reluctant naturist' and although she doesn't mind me being nude, she only strips off when she is comfortable, and that is perfectly fine, I'm just happy that she is happy.

You are correct in what you say.  She will do things at her own pace.
We took a 4 foot high windbreak to Studland last week, now she wants a lower one, about 3 feet high.
She also has an idea about wearing a flimsy top, with no bra or knickers, so I think she is getting more confident.  It will take as long as it takes.
Thanks for your reply.

This is an old(ish)) topic but I really felt I wanted to comment as I am in the same position. I am hoping that this summer I can persuade my wife to disrobe, at least in the garden as a starter for ten.
It seems that generally, men take to outdoor nudity far more easily than women and my wife, I'm sure is not alone in her confidence issues. Hearing that other couples have overcome this hurdle is encouraging so fingers crossed. The last thing I want to do is apply any pressure as I'm sure this will have the opposite effect but it is encouraging to hear stories like this.
