We are going back to New Zealand at the end of this month.

Anyone have experience of Peka Peka Beach in the Wellington area or Ocean Beach in Hawkes Bay?

Just got back.

I managed a half hour naked wander on the beach just east of Whangapoua. Not a CO beach but quiet enough to strip off for a while, discreetly.

I visited the CO beach at Peka Peka via the Te Hapua road. The weather wasn't terrific but I left my clothes at the dunes and went for a paddle.
The beach is very very long and apart from meeting a lady walking two boxer dogs the nearest sign of life was a man fishing about a mile away.

I managed a sneaky skinny dip in Lake Taupo at the small beach to the south of the town.

We had a villa and a pool to ourselves for a couple of days near Hamilton and I never wore a stitch all the time we were there. Pleased to say the Mrs joined me naked in the garden and in the pool.

Can't wait to go back but equally excited to be going back to Fuerte in August 🙂

If you get as far north as the Bay of Islands there is a very pleasant small naturist beach near Russell.

If you're travelling north, Uretiti beach is amazing: https://freebeaches.org.nz/uretiti.htm

But almost any beach can be fine (once you get away from the few major cities). NZ has a very low population density, so it's very easy to find yourself alone on a huge stretch of beach.

Just one caution - be careful about swimming on west coast beaches. They are notorious for rips and many inexperienced people have drowned. Aim for the east coast for gentler swimming.
