I’m very interested to know. Why at 60 did you suddenly decide to become a naturist?

I'm in a similar situation so do sympathise. Not near enough to friend up, but the Way I'm dealing with it is with a number of ways, all found on the Internet etc.
1. Join FB pages and find out who lives locally. I'm on Naturist Ramblers, Genuine Naturist Friends UK and a Skinny Dipping site.
2. I've organised a naturist rambling group and we go out for a walk every 2-3 weeks. You'll find something locally.
3. I go to a naturist spa once a month.
4. I joined NENaturists and they have a weekend at a local naturist club - think it was £10 for me to join them there for a day - free BBQ!
5. I did the NESkinny Dip last Sept for charity - and the wife even came up for that as we made a weekend of it.

You've done the right thing by joining this site but think you might need to put more feelers out and start posting stuff. Of course, at the end of the day you will need to get passes out from the wife, so make sure you're giving her a date day every week!

I have been a Naturist for a few years now but I have a problem .
I am married but my wife is not at all interested in naturism and she won't let me be naked about the house.
I am not interested in joining one of the big clubs due to cash reasons, this leaves me very lonely
I am looking for a Naturist Male/ Female or couple close to me in Hitchin or anywhere in Hertfordshire that I can make friends with so that I have someone that I can visit for a coffee and chat a couple of times a month I am a very easy  going person  and see if we get on.
The only time I can be naked at the moment is if I visit a naturist beach in the summer.

I was a late starter to naturism 60  i have slept naked since i was 14 used to go down the fields on the farm and strip off .
fast forward got married wife  and kids  divorced  went through a bad time  with injuries  lost my job g/f buggered off could not  renew my hgv i would not have passed the medical nearly lost my house .
Then dad got ill heart problems dementia  lost him after a while i thought  sod it lets go to studland and try the naturist beech .

loved it since then been camping  at naturist campsites /swims/ holiday at charco del palo  now my holidays are mostly naturist i would hope to make friends in the oxford area as my son lives with me so can't get naked much at home 

I am often naked at home and my lad isnt bothered by it. Mind you he says he is psychologically scarred and can ge "borrow" a tenner.

There are other places to strip off, if you look and I don't just mean clubs and swims. The great outdoors is just that a great place to be outdoors - I do many walks naked by myself in many places - there are walks all over the English countryside - even just typing in walks in X area will show many but ordinance survey have them all listed - available on maps and on the web. Many are seldom used by people - granted many are across open countryside, but there are a lot through more remote woodlands. In the late spring when crops have grown just pick a farm field with tall crops and walk along a tractor trail - brushing through rape or potatoes naked is a great feeding - I would say wheat that that is often so short now it just doesn't even get to your knee.

If it's your house as much as your wife's, then as a grown up man surely you can decide for yourself how you dress or not dress around the house. How can your wife stop you from walking around naked.

Why not turn the tables and tell your wife that you won't let her wear clothes in the house. 

As JMNude has posted there will be plenty of secluded walks within easy reach of you. Try them clothed first to see which provides the least chance of meeting textiles if being seen naked in public worries you. 

Well said Brooke, I get a bit fed up with men saying their wives won't let them do this or that. Marriage is supposed to be a partnership, and whilst my wife isn't into naturism she accepts I have a right to do so if I please. I know I am lucky but it has taken a degree of negotiation to reach a happy compromise.

brooke and corporal, yes in an ideal world married couples are equal partners, and can do what they like within reason.
sadly, many partners are not reasonable, nor accepting of their partners desires.
it is not just men who commit domestic abuse, so gbobby's wife may well be a very domineering personality, who holds the whip hand, in that if he displeases her in one way, she withholds things, or actively punishes him.
walk a mile in his shoes before criticising.

I do feel sorry for people in situations like this. If you can't even do what you enjoy in your own home and it is something that doesn't harm the other person then I am not sure what the point is in the relationship.

Whilst what you say seems quite right and straight forward, any relationship has elements of compromise. For some being naked is a desire and does not develop into a lifestyle without consensus.
I am recently separated after very many years of marriage - the compromises became too much and too many - I was lucky in that they were not about being naked around the house. But I am sure that one both our parts there were compromises and I expect that is one that I might have tolerated if it was about the only one. I would however sought to find naked company.
