I recently went for a naked walk and wanted to post this on site.
I completed a short post and wanted to attach a photo from my phone.
I  clicked on Attachments , found an image but I got the following response....... There is a problem, your file is too large.
This photo was taken on my phone.
So what have I done wrong?
This is the first time I`ve tried this , I am a novice where this is concerned.

Being naked is one of the simple joys of life.

You need to resize your photo as it is too large, download said photo to computer use editing software to make it smaller ie 6x4 inches then re-post it

As Richard noted, the picture is probably too large. Uploaded pictures have to be stored somewhere and it doesn't take long for that to add up to quite a lot, so a compromise is to keep the size to a specified limit.

Depending on the type of phone you have, there could be an app available that will make this very easy, i.e. you put in the required limts and it adjusts the photo accordingly. What kind of phone do you have?

I have a Sony Xperia galaxy, quite a change from basic mobile!
I'm only just getting to know my phone.

That's an Android phone. Anyone on Android have any recommendations? I haven't used relevant apps on that platform, so can't comment.

You can get a resize app for the phone too.

If you plan to take photos for uploading? Try changing the photo options before taking it so the file is smaller. A  bit of a compromise as you could forget and take a great photo later only to find out  is in low resolution

A page such as this might be worth a read:
https://photo.wondershare.com/photo-editor/best-android-apps-to-resize-images.html

My guess would be that photo uploads are limited to a number of bytes (file size) rather than picture size. Perhaps someone in the know (a site admin) would offer the specifics on what is acceptable.

STOP PRESS: The instructions for uploading to this site's Media Centre say that the picture must have a maximum of 1200 pixels along the longest edge, and be of maximum 1MB in size.

It's reasonable to suppose that the same limitations apply to posts on the forum.
That's pretty limited, but one of the apps on linked page would cope.
