I was walking naked along the paths behind the dunes at Ainsdale yesterday and decided to go out onto the beach. I put my shorts and teeshirt back on and walked to the waters edge, only a couple of hundred metres away as it was high tide. I expected the sea to be freezing but to my surprise it felt warm. There were lots of people on the beach but they were mostly quite a distance away, only a few walked any distance from the car parking.
I could not resist the warm sea so stripped off and went in. After a nice swim I got out and went to the top of the beach and layed in the sun to dry off. After laying naked for a time I just happened to put my sarong over me when the beach patrol land rover went past. I was glad I was covered as I didn't want my loverly day spoilt by a discussion about my nakedness, the law and the new police guidelines with a ranger from the Sefton council.
Has anyone else had recent dealings with the beach patrol on the Sefton coast over naked swimming and sun bathing. I know in the past there have been problems with the police at Formby and Ainsdale but that is many years ago now.
I think problems in the past stemmed from sexual activity, swingers and doggers.
