I have been walking in Sherwood Forest for a few years now and regularly see a female walking her two dogs, I usually see her as I am either entering or exiting the Forest and we have always spoke or waved as we have passed close by. At this point I have been clothed.
I have been out every evening this week, enjoying the evening sunshine. I have crossed this females path four times this week whilst naked, not really close but close enough for her to see my nakedness, once in the rain too.  still waved but received  no wave back.
Last evening I was leaving my car as she was reaching hers, I spoke and put my hand up as usual but received nothing back, not even a smile.
I think I can cross this one off my people to convert list, what do you think?
Maybe I'll get Gildo to have a word he seems to have the charm needed, hey David?

I look forward to seeing the follow-up to this - good or bad as it happens.

I have always been surprised that we have never met so probably why I have never met her, but who knows. I think the problem sometimes is friends of people telling them to be careful and avoid us as they do not know we are less likely a threat than someone fully clothed. You can't win them all but there are certainly more people there who are happy to acknowledge us and at least be tolerant and that is all that matters.

Cream mini traveler. one small springer spaniel and a lurcher type dog.
You must have met her she spends hours up there.
I have been in the forest some days for 2 or 3 hours and shes been there when I have arrived and still there when I left.
She used to park at Budby where I think you park but now parks at the pumping station, as do I.
Thinking about it the four days our paths crossed were in the same spot, in different directions though and  the times varied by a couple of hours or so.
Perhaps she thinks I'm a stalker and a naked one at that.
Still the same bloke she used to speak to when dressed though. Her car was there this evening but didn't see her today.

See what happens when you are clothed.  See if she will speak or wave, if she won't then you could conclude that you may have offended her by your nakeness.  Even if she was friendly at first, not all Women are at ease with nudity.

I can understand her position.  By walking naked you changed the status quo.  She was comfortable with the old position but is no longer.  Her choice and you do not know her earlier life experiences.

I walk most days in the hills and it takes 5 -  20 mins to get to a point where i disrobe.  The bulk of rwgular walkers know i am a naturist,  not because they have seen me but because I have told them whilst chatting and clothed.  It comes as no surprise should they happen to bump into me when naked.

Its a surprise I haven't met her then. I don't recall ever seeing anyone of her description though.

Okay so I went out as usual on Wednesday evening and her car was parked up. I deliberately walked the main path as I entered the forest and remained clothed, it wasn't long before I came face to face with the female in question.
Her dogs were loose,as was mine, one of her dogs had a little go at mine, nothing to worry about but she was really apologetic and started to tell me that this is the reason she has been avoiding me as her dog could be a bit funny with others. We had little chat and carried on in opposite directions. I felt a little  more relaxed about the avoidance issue now.
This evening I was out again and took a usual route through some trees on a path that I have never met anyone on in the last 5 years. Coming the other way was this female and her dogs, knowing one was a bit nasty and my lead being in my shorts pocket, I quickly slipped my shorts on, she could see me do this. As we approached we both restrained our dogs and again she was apologetic. I took this opportunity and said " this is the second time this week you've caught me with my shorts on " to this she laughed, so I asked her if seeing me walking around naked bothered her. She said " it did a little when she first saw me a few weeks ago but now No it didn't". I explained that I am a naturist and she accepted this, I took this as a good sign and we wished each other a good walk.
Now bugger me I hadn't gone 10 yards when another regular female dog walker was coming towards me and I know she has seen me a few times and followed me out to the cars a couple of times to. I thought I'm on a roll here and said " hello, this is the second time you've caught me with my shorts on lately,( we met about a month ago and I'd slipped my shorts on). She said " I've seen you many times and even followed you a few days ago watching your little bum go up and down snigering because you didn't know I was there" I did.
I said " does it bother you? " she said she wasn't bothered and had seen others walking naked, the only time it bothers her was when she had a granddaughter with her. This happened a few weeks back and the naturist in question didn't cover up. I told her I would if ever she had a child with her when I saw her. We chatted for 10 minutes and she said " everyone should do what makes them happy". We bid farewell and as I walked away she shouted " You carry on what you were doing."
I had a great walk knowing that two lone females I see most days are comfortable with me walking about naked. I will cover up though given the chance when seeing them close up.
Much happier now.

Brilliant. I suspected it might have been something like this that was putting her off. I already know that women generally do not seem to have a problem with naked guys. It is the men who tent to over react at times, I geuss they just don't know what else to do and they probably think they are protecting the women who don't really care. I have had a situation where the man complained and the woman countered him and told him not to be so silly.
The warden has told me that a man has been very nasty with her complaining that she should do something about the naked people walking around. I have been working with her to give her plenty of ammunition hopefully to calm him down. I will let everyone know how it pans out when I know.

It's great to read that things seem to have been resolved satisfactorily. I did have a short walk in that area a few weeks ago but, until now, it's been too wet recently. Being respectful and considerate seems to be key to how people react, although remembering that naturism is both natural and legal is useful too.

I agree we're not breaking any laws  but if all I have to do is cover my bits for a few seconds when passing someone, then I'm happy to do so to keep the piece as it were.
I understand not everyone wants to see my naked body and I can respect that.
