A statement will be circulated at Glasgow Continental tomorrow.  You can download it from Dropbox.  https://www.dropbox.com/s/sfi7rxodnq6p68d/19-03%20announce%20end%20weekly%20GC.pdf?dl=0

As I have said on other forums, this is a very sad loss to naturism in Scotland, Arlington is a great venue

It's all part of the great tradition in the UK of putting unreasonable restrictions on potential victims and their associates in an attempt to eliminate a minimal threat while ignoring the real dangers.
It is particularly ironic in this case as no cases of children being groomed in a naturist environment are apparently on record and such reliable evidence as exists tends to indicate that children brought up where nudity is more acceptable tend to be safer.

Does anyone know what happened with Glasgow swim in the end? Is it now just the last Sunday of the month and no kids aloud?

There is still a Sunday night naturist swim at the Arlington Baths Club in Glasgow. It’s no longer organised by all the same team and no longer associated with the Scottish Outdoor club. There’s a new team involved. See here: https://www.thesundayswim.org/

In keeping with the requirements from the ABC it is open to over 18s only. I’ve not been since the change but looks like it will be run on basically the same basis, with the exception of the age restrictions.

Sorry to have been so quiet lately... Lots happening in my life just now.

There is now a weekly over 18’s naturist swim under the name of “The Sunday Swim” at The Arlington. Same times, but you do need to join up afresh, as it is a new club.

Thank you for the quick responses. Its a shame my kids won't be able to go. Does anyone know what the SOC are up to this year? Any events on at the island etc?

Hello. But of a long shot but does anyone know about a naturist friendly b and b sort of thing in Dumfries and Galloway? I'm sure someone at the Glasgow swim told us about some sort of cabin you could rent down that way but can't remember the details.

Anyone heard of this before?

I suspect you’re thinking about The Waterhouse ( http://www.waterhousekbt.co.uk/ ). I’ve never been, so cannot comment on how good it is, but it looks really nice in the website.

I am in Aberdeen and this afternoon, I went to Balmedie. When I set out, it was sunny but by the time I reached the beach, the coast line was enveloped by a sea haar.  Visibility was low and no one was around, so I removed my clothes and walked naked along the beach. I have posted a photo that captures the moment.

Apologies for photo quality in previous post. Resolution is poor. Not sure why.

the waterhouse is naturist friendly and the owners also claim to be naturist. we have been twice and will be returning it was so nice.
the whole site is very private and the log cabins perfect, the stoves are fed by wood pellets which give a lot of heat in the cabins.
we would advise taking torches as there are a few steps down to the hot tubs.
the site is about 2 tennis courts long which you can walk around and the wildlife is all around.
well worth a visit and very friendly.
