Many years ago, probably 20, when I visited the area for work (just a short 30 min visit) but a 3 hour drive to there - I decided to take the family with me and spend the rest of the day at Western beach, parked in the lay-by and walked down the lane finally getting to the sty and seeing from above the pebbled beach, cliffs rising from the sea and glorious blue sky. I had to take a picture (its been on my wall ever since). The walk from the sty down to the beach was invigorating but once on the beach we couldn't drop the clothes fast enough and carefully enter the warm sea. Pebble beaches I don't normally like, but at least you don't get sand everywhere - a great day.
I've not been back since - it's a long way to go when there are much closer sandy nude beaches close to me, but as you can tell - I remember my visit with affection.
I'm in the area again on Monday, and hope that I might make a short visit. Haven't been there before, as I went down to a deserted salcombe, next door, in the evening and had a dip and walk there. Lovely area
