Does this mean that even if you visit the beach for an hour or two you will be stung for £9.00?  Whereabouts on Lady Annes Drive is the café/toilet? is it at the end nearest the beach?

No, it's cheaper for a short stay. Looks like their web site is behind with the prices, because it says:

https://www.holkham.co.uk/nature-reserve-beach/directions-parking

Up to 1 hour £2.00
Up to 2 hours £3.50
Up to 4 hours £6.00
Over 4 hours and all day £8.00*
7 days £30.00

Be careful selecting the rate you want, especially if paying by card. I managed to put in one press too many once last year and later discovered I'd paid the 7-day rate. Oops!

Yes, they were going to build it at the end near the beach on the right hand side.
If the nice weather comes back we may go and take a look and see how things have changed and perhaps spend a day on the beach.

Holkham was my first experience of being nude with others too. It was many many years ago and all sorts of folk enjoying a sunny Sunday. Seemed very normal and I've never looked back since.

Thanks for the info. We have been in Swaffham for nearly 4 years but have been too busy doing other things to be able to get there. May try Friday.

I'm considering checking out a naturist beach with a friend today. Not so sure about Holkham, what about Corton, has anyone been there recently, or what about the others mentioned, what would people say is the all round best one to go to. Thanks

Fairly new to Norfolk myself and hoping to get to Holkgam next summer.

Corton just north of Lowestoft is my closest naturist beach. Still very much alive and kicking. Nice naturist community there. Most are friendly and respectful. It’s not the prettiest of beaches. Shingle and coarse sand and a few big clumps if marram grass breaking up the beach. Popular with dog walkers and occasional fishermen but there’s plenty of room for all as long as we ‘live and let live’
Parking is free at Ditch Farm Pitch & Putt car park. Walk across the road and down a tarmac path to the beach. Turn LEFT (naturist area used to be to the right) and walk 150m. It’s not signed and you can ignore any blogs etc that say it’s not a naturist beach. It is! Local council recinded there ban and naturism is tolerated in that part of the beach.
Have fun. Might see you there sometime 🌞

It's good to hear some info on Corton beach, we have always been a little dubious about it but now it seems like it might be worth a visit, we stopped going to Holkham when they banned people from the dunes, being sand blasted and no escape from the wind isn't fun and the walk is a bit much, we have spent most of our free time the last couple of years at Broadlands but there is nothing like being free if you know what I mean and our searching continues for nice relaxing places near Norwich.

Please add NC to any comments to pictures ..thanks.

You're right, being sandblasted on a warm windy day at Holkham is not the best of fun even a windbreak offers little comfort.
At least if the wind did pick up you could always retreat to the shelter of the dunes, but I guess they will now never lift the restriction on sunbathing in the dunes for all the reasons discussed in this thread.
