Jane & I regularly walk naked across the hills in central Wilts, weekdays when it’s quieter and warm enough, although I’m ok with the cooler weather. We find utility kilts are perfect for this as allows a easy cover up when negotiating roads etc. Always happy for other naked walkers to join us

Welcome to NC and great that you both enjoy shedding those dam clothes and that you are open about it and get others to be aware - if not to join in at least understand.

As you may know often men are more likely to go nude than women especially away from clubs - so fantastic you both walk naked (I only wish that my wife would join me, or at least be OK with me walking nude with her, instead of me just a wearing a pair of shorts), but my wife is too concerned about how people will react - even though over the last 20 years of naked walks by myself, I've only come across may be 10 people in probably more than 2000 walks (I'm careful about where I walk and times I walk) - never any issue so far, but few stop to talk (that's OK I don't normally talk to people on walks when clothed).

Hello and welcome, from up the road in Swindon. Well done for getting out and enjoying our fair county as nature intended. I have only ever managed one daytime walk (with the Naked Ramblers in 2016), but thinking about venturing out one night. Ever tried one of those?

It’s amazing how quickly you can get away from people especially if you don’t start from the busy car parks. Many days we see absolutely nobody although we are close to civilisation, as most people just follow the masses and use the main routes.
We have walked lots of routes through woods and hills, usually in the central Wiltshire area but also abroad as well. It’s definitely easier if there is a big group of you as you are less worried and Jane does worry more about meeting textiles but generally it never need an issue

I think having a lady with you probably helps when you encounter textiles, although being in a group doesn’t provide the solution, in my experience.

There is a dilemma in that the greatest joy of naturism is the liberated feel it brings (mentally, just as much as physically), and if you are looking over your shoulder all the time, or up ahead, wondering when you will next encounter a textile, it spoils the pleasure and defeats the object.

On my one outing with the Naked Ramblers, the leader of the walk said we were unlikely to meet anyone, and then - Sod’s Law - there were about five encounters. My only other significant daytime walks have been in Spain, but that is a different kettle of fish.

It doesn’t matter how legal or innocent it is; it is still a challenge to put yourself in a position where somebody else is liable to think you are weird, creepy or even dangerous, even if they aren’t hostile (which is also a possibility).

Those on here who do take the bull by the horns and walk naked in broad daylight are to be admired, but it’s an obstacle some of us can probably never overcome.

We’re often in Salisbury (Winterslow area) and the whole county is glorious, full of footpaths and bridleways to ramble ‘au naturel’, which we frequently do when we get the chance.

Added to that, the New Forest and Harewood Forest near Andover are just a short drive way, another couple of fantastic places to ramble naked.  Roll on Summer.
