Am down in South Wales for a few more days so felt I just had to get a winter walk in along the beach...I normally go across to Monknash but decided this time to go to Sker beach at Kenfig Burrows. After checking the tides timings and heights, I figured I could do both!..and that would be a first !

So, to Kenfig while the tide was out and Monknash before it was fully in. I was hoping to time it so I'd see as few people as possible as I'm still wary of textiles' reactions.

Sker beach was stunning in its winter setting, the sea was lively but with both the intermittent mist/drizzle and blustery gusts I was acutely aware of losing too much body heat. I was surprised by the number of people about - a few dog walkers, three pairs of horses and riders, general walkers and a few mountain bikers popping up on the ridge of the dunes alongside the beach!...I walked along to the water line and then further for a hundred yards or so and most people were quite distant now, off with the kit and into the rucksack...Wow!..it was invigorating in a delicious way and I picked up the pace a little and enjoyed the freedom!...However the weather became quite squally in between moments of sun and the wind blasts, wet sea spray and drizzle made it difficult to keep temperature up. I continued for a while but common sense had to prevail over bravado and shorts, T-shirt and micro fleece were put on for the return leg and I was fine. I stopped for a cuppa and a sandwich and just soaked up the view.

Across to Monknash, van parked and down to the beach later than expected and sadly the tide was well in! I couldn't access the beach at the usual point so headed up to the cliff top walk intending to access the beach via the iron ladders onto Wick beach. The weather was damn awful on top. A naked walk was scuttled and a waterproof donned!

I had a lovely few hours none the less but as for 'doing the double'...it can be done and so a goal for another day!!

Safety and well-being first!

Working down Dorset way today so headed for Studland beach for an hour or so. Beach was practically deserted and not surprising really. Very windy and dark skies. Walked length of beach naked and stopped for some piccies, quite enjoyable really until the heavens opened. Don't think I've ever made it back to the car so quick

I love Studland too but have not been there this time of year...When there, where do you park? I tend to park in the Nat Trust car park as it's free for us as members but then it's a measurable walk to the naturist section. Do you  walk the 'entire' beach though given it's so quiet this time of year and not just the naturist section? I doubt the Nat Trust wardens would hardly be out chasing errant naturists so maybe it's doable??

Had a pleasant day there recently when there was a bit of sunshine, albeit a quite fresh day and too cold to strip off. Very quiet aside from dogwalkers. Parked in the NT car park as we are members of the NT. Cafe good.

Just back in from another late night nude walk in a nearby wood. 3 degrees but very still. Night walks like this wearing a hat and gloves and the cold doesn't really bother me when I keep up a brisk pace.

Hoping to get a few daytime walks in over the festive season.

I tend to park at the National Trust car park as I'm a member, and easier access to the café for a welcome hot coffee and sausage roll after my walk. When the beach is this quiet I do tend to push the boundaries a little and walk further than the designated area. Last week I parked on Ferry Road and walked the path from the road to the rear of the beach, and then back again fully naked

I have done both of those in the past but clothed until I got to the naturist section. I was thinking that a naked walk from the car park and through the dunes all the way to the end of shell beach might be a nice one to do.There'd be some shelter from any onshore wind and the chances of bumping into textiles outside of the Naturist area would be minimal as most ( and the dog walkers ) would probably stay on the beach. In fact doing 'dunes, naturist beach, dunes' might be a nice walk with a combination of scenery!?

Still managing to get out now and then, but the moors are very muddy, having g to choose rouutes carefully,  getting muddy isn't a problem when nude but getting stuck in a bog miles from anywhere is.

Agreed. Safety first. I am just off the hills myself. Got some stuff to do this morning so cut it short 🙁

Have been out walking in the woods at my naturist club several times over the winter.

At first I was worried about being seen from the road, as our grounds slope upwards from the road and there isn't much cover with all the leaves down. Then I realised cars are probably driving too fast to notice, so I've just carried on. In fact, I now undress at the gate rather than opening and driving up our track which is parallel to the road

I've been noticed a few times by pedestrians but all the locals know it's a naturist site and don't seem to be bothered

Having dropped Mandy to work at 0530 this morning I decided to go for a walk on Dartmoor.
It was 0 degrees as I got out of the car.
Wearing just a wooly hat with a built in torch, and a pair of gloves I set out on my walk.
I was only walking for about an hour, but it was nice to get out in the peace and quiet again

It is great walking in the winter. The cold depopulates an area 🙂

I wonder if it was you reported in the local social media a couple of years ago? (I only read it recently) I initially assumed it must have been me, but not aware I had been seen walking in the woods elsewhere in the area. Can’t quite remember how it described it, but the comments were reasonably accepting. I was looking for references to my more local excursions, as one chap told me I was famous on the local social media, but I have never found anything...

I did run into someone (not quite literally) one lovely snowy morning a couple of years ago. I just couldn’t resist a naked barefoot run about 6:00 or 6:30 in late winter. I saw a single set of footprints in the snow heading up ‘my hill’, but assumed (wrongly) he wouldn’t go beyond the top. He looked a little taken aback at this apparition in the snow!

I used to keep a reasonable distance from the road when walking through the woods to avoid being visible.  But over the past 2 years, we've had a bad storms and have lost a few trees on the boundary and Highways have been cutting back ivy-covered branches along the roadside for safety reasons. So it's possible it was me they saw? But I've only recently been bold enough to walk the track from the gate to the clubhouse

The only time I've actually come face to face with anyone was when 2 locals (who admitted they knew it was a naturist club) decided to take "a shortcut" through our grounds, down to the gate. As you know the track is parallel to the road, so it's not any shorter!
