Off to La Gomera on Friday for a week and then Tenerife for 10days. Not expecting many naturist opportunities on Gomera, bu5 staying near the main naturist beach, Playa Tejita, on Tenerife. Any chance that anyone else there?

Depending where you are going on La Gomera, or if you'll have a hire car - there are a couple of places at least.

The first is on the west coast, just north of Valle Gran Rey, called Playa del Ingles (not to be confused by the beach of the same name on Gran Canaria). It is black sand and reasonably popular with naturists.

The other location is close to the the southern resort of Playa Santiago - to the east of the town there are three coves that are considered clothes optional. Playa de Tapahuga; Playa Medio and Playa de Chinguarime. You need to go past the Hotel Jardin Tecina to access them.

Thanks for the info. We’re not having a car in Gomera but thanks for the info. Will see if our location is anywhere near! I know we’ve got a day trip to Valle Gran Rey but not sure we’ll be able to head further north.

Wow. Looks like I can walk to Playa de Tapachula! We’re staying close to Playa Santiago. Thanks again for the heads up!

Where are you staying at Playa Santiago? We are regulars at the Holiday Property Bond resort - El Balcon de Santa Ana.

Yep, that’s where we are. Have been with HPB for many years. First time at this site. Just arrived an hour or two ago. Balcony private enough to get naked thankfully! Have you walked to Tapahuga beach?

Hi Peter

Have replied to your message. But yes, the first floor balconies offer plenty of privacy, so fine for stripping off. We like the place a lot and generally go in November/December: I think it will be our 6th visit this year and we've only been Bondies for that long.

Unfortunately, I suffer with a dodgy knee and so we haven't walked to Tapahuga - but we have been in the car. Having said that, I think the weather wasn't the best and we didn't spend any time on the beach. It's mostly very large pebbles if I recall. Although a bit of a trek, I reckon if you are a fairly robust walker it should be feasible to get there on foot. Not sure if you'd find other naturists there or not, but I would think it would be OK to strip off, particularly if you went to the far side of the beach. Everything tends to be very laid-back in the Canaries, especially on the smaller islands.

Hope you have a great time at El Balcon!!

Cheers, Mike

Hi again. Not long back from HPB Alfaix where we had a two bed property that gave us an (almost) private solarium- ok for nude sunbathing. My wife went to the welcome meeting and got the usual “be warned! There’s a naturist beach at Vera Playal. I was thinking of writing in to suggest that those who do the meetings should promote the naturist beaches more positively. They always seem to suggest that it’s a “shock, horror’ and something to be avoided. How do you think it would be received?
the other thing I’d thought of was to start an HPB Naturist group on FB to try and swap suggestions & recommendations. Any thoughts?
