Where do you leave your clothes?

I have thought about leaving my stuff in the car when walking on the South West Coast Path but would want to take keys, phone and small camera - I thought about a wrist wallet.

Why not try a small pochette on a shoulder strap - I swear by mine which has belt clips on the back in which I stow a light wrap for a cover-up and sitting cloth.

I can suggest some possible links.

Like most others, I take a very small rucksack, or sometimes a drawstring bag - I have used on of those children's school bag things. I have managed to get it down to a gadget bag by taking the absolute minimum. I have left my stuff on a beach to go for a beach walk unencumbered, on the doubtful theory that people will think I've just gone for a swim. Have you thought about a waterproof 'map sack'? I have one that's designed to take an A4 folded map but you can slip keys, wallet and a phone in too. It's sealable and waterproof. I also have a specific Keys, phone and wallet sack that's small, waterproof and on a shoulder string so easy to wear. Mine is made by the outdoor people 'Trespass'. Of course you could look for a good old 'bum bag' and put your stuff in a resealable 'freezer' bag to keep it waterproof inside...food for thought!!

Thanks John and Sunchaser. When down to the absolute minimum, I use a "gadget bag" - it's about the size of the bag that John shows (possibly a bit smaller). I can scrunch up a basic pair of shorts in it, and also get my car keys, phone and a small camera in there.

As someone who probably has more hair on my chest than the top of my head, I usually wear a Tilley hat, which also protects my ears.  This has a velcro closed pocket in the crown, which can easily hold some currency and a car key.

For a number of months now I have been going for a walk at night and tend to tie my clothes to a tree just enough so no animals can steel them but easy enough for me to untie. I only wear a hat, a head torch and carry a spare torch in one hand with my keys in the other. Anyone else into nocturnal walks..

I used to walk a lot at night but not for a while now - something to do with sleeping better .. I seem to recall someone writing here about leaving their clothes in a tree, then losing the tree, resulting in a frantic and potentially embarrassing search before finding it again. You have been warned!  😮

I feel a need for caution here, what happens if you can't get back to your clothes due an incident out of your control, OK it's not against the law, but very embarrassing all the same.
I have always taken something with me to cover up and yes it's a pain and I would love to not to have to carry anything.
I have walked all round my village at night well 2:30 AM onwards that seems to be the quietest and hardly any traffic at all, I did part of the “Testway Walk” at night which was nice and hopefully do it again when the weather gets a bit warmer as I hate the cold.

I just undress and put my clothes in the boot of the car. I don't take anything with me to cover up as there aren't too many people about where I walk. But I try to time it so there is nobody passing

For my early morning skinny-dips on the normally textile beach at San Augustin I leave my clothes in my room at Petit Hotel Natura.

@banditman

I’ve gotten up at 4 for a nudist jog but never tried a nocturnal walk.  Must feel quite daring with absolutely no cover.

Did naked bike ride last night, about 4 miles, no cover up needed everywhere was as quiet as the grave. I have incredibly bright cycle lights ,not needed due to the full moon, and decided that if approached by a car they would be sufficient to conceal my state of dress, much as you never see the driver of a car beyond the headlights.

I've done a few night time\early am walks along an old railway line where I've left my clothes in the car and tucked the car keys into my woolly hat. Not carrying anything just adds something extra to a naked walk.

I've done quite a few naked bike rides at similar times, all from home and usually carry shorts and a T-shirt in case I come off the bike or have a mechanical failure and find myself having to walk a couple of miles pushing the bike.

Having said that, the urge to do the bike ride without carrying the T-shirt and shorts is growing stronger and at some stage will likely be done. I was out on the bike at 4:30am this morning and was was hoping to do it nude, but again decided to hold off due to a cold breeze when I got the bike out as the wind chill up here in Scotland can be a bit much to be nude.

I did a naked bike ride yesterday at 12:30 (midday) with shorts and T shirt over the handle bar (I cycled to the starting point from home wearing them - about 3 miles along country roads but passing some houses. The return trip was via a different route and hence naked - 1 mile on a bridle path and 1 mile on a country road until I got close to some houses - didn't see anyone; normally I wouldn't do the country road naked, but due to the lock down very rare to see anyone about.

On hot nights on occasions I have cycled nude from my house and completed a 6 or 8 mile circuit normally at 1-2am - never seen anyone.

Often (again when its warm) leave the house naked for a 3 mile walk up to and through the local wood typically 4am (never seen anyone at that time)

When we could drive to locations I often drove naked and then did the walk - taking no clothes at all. For areas I didn't know how populated they would be, then normally just a pair of shorts that I carried in my hand (some times using it as a fly swat).

At 3:45am I couldn't sleep so went outside, found it quite mild, out came the bike and off I went nude. Thought for a while about leaving the shorts and T-shirt at home but no, stuffed them into the saddle bag before setting off to be on the safe side.

Around 5-6 miles and never saw a soul, one truck in the distance, so could have easily left the clothes at home. Always that nagging doubt......maybe next time.
