After much indecision we decided to go to Church Norton Beach near Chichester. What a perfect location for naturists! A vast area of open beach, a handful of friendly naturists and perfect weather. A few dog walkers and bird watchers wandered past and seemed quite at ease with naked bodies sunbathing or going back and forwards to the sea.

G&J,

Sounds good. Care to share information about best place to park how you get to the beach from where you parked and where to go when you get to the beach?

There is a small, free, car park at Church Norton which is just off the road from Chichester to Selsey. About 100 metres down the marked footpath you turn right and then a five minute walk gets you to the large shingle beach where you turn left. Another five minute walk will bring you to the area used by naturists. There are no signs but you will start to see a few naturists either at the water’s edge or higher up the beach. It is possible to walk naked right to the far end of the beach.

Have been here a few times over the last couple of months again. A great place, with friendly nudists, and as mentioned, those dog walkers, bird watchers (it's next to a bird reserve) and a few fisherman are completely unfazed by the nudists there. Quite a few stop to chat actually.

The car park is small, so best to arrive early.

Wish I had read about this before we opted to visit Eastney. I think it would have been better suited for us.

finally got to church norton this afternoon.  car park at the church was chock full. its used by birdwatchers in that end of the rspb pagham harbour reserve as well as beach goers. so ended up parking near the east beach carpark in selsey.  its about half hour walk along the shoreline to where the path from church norton church meets the coast,   a few clothed people scattered about where the path from the church hits the beach then theres nude bodies all way along to the pagham harbour entrance....probably 10 in total evenly scattered over the available beach, about another half hours stroll. so not exactly crowded. just enough other nude bodies to confirm weve found the right  place.

Sounds like a nice place but why on earth do we have to walk half an hour to get to a beach?  It seems that most naturist beaches involve some kind of hiking just to get there.  This seems very unfair to me.

Boundaries are there to be stretched!

Although the car park for access to Church Norton beach is small it is unusual in our experience to find no space. One can also reach this beach from the RSPB car park and a very pleasant short walk.

it was about 3pm by the time i got to the carpark to find it full. as im recently retired from a fairly active job a walk along the seashore is probably a good thing to do. as were now living in selsey it seems daft whilst im fit enough for the longer walk to drive out to the pagham rspb car park just to get a shorter walk . but its another viable option for the future. For me at the moment its an afternoon walk rather than an afternoon sat on the beach thats the aim . walking from door to cn beach is nearer two hours so wont be doing that again in a hurry.  riding a bike along the sandy bit when the tides out is another option i may try sometime, but the wooden groynes are a problem at the selsey end.

back at the church carpark just before 9am ,  only 3 other cars there.   spent the morning on the beach, tide was just about right out when we arrived, so could walk along the exposed sandy strip rather than having to tramp along the shingle.  just went far enough for the wife to feel comfortable that we were"in the nude bit".   just enough other naked bodies about all morning to reassure her that we were in the right place.  probably the first time weve spent the morning nude on the beach since furteventura in november 18.   as the tide came back in the water was almost upto bath like temps.....actually got my shoulders immersed,  again probably first time since nov 18.

when we left at 12.30 there was only one other space in the carpark.

another rare sunny morning with no wind,   off to church norton as soon as, we were on the beach by 10 am ,   couple of dog walkers and bird watchers about but no other sun bathers.   by lunchtime when we left wed seen 2 other naked bodies in the distance, a couple of fishermen and  maybe half a dozen dog walkers.....along with a seal , a couple of crested grebes , several cormerants and numerous terns.

i still dont like getting my feet into cold water...this time i wandered along the shoreline till i found a patch of seaweed to investigate ,  theres strandy bits and furry bits and  bids with floatation sacs and to grap that next intresting bit ill have to watch the waves or i might get a wet head.

just needs something other than water to focus my tiny mind  on. 😀

@rustic You were brave to go there on Friday, I live not far from Church Norton and it wasn’t very warm.

@sussex-nudists

were in selsea , just a couple of miles along the shoreline from church norton, daughter lives in hunston just a few miles inland weather in the two is often completely different.

only been here since the spring but this time of year it seems its  the wind that dictates whether or not we go to the beach.  sunny or  little bit cloudy doesnt really matter.

in some ways we actually prefer less than "perfect" weather,  less risk of sunburn and more space on the beach..... after all "3s a crowd"  😀

It is rarely crowded at Church Norton, I don’t think I have ever seen more than a dozen naturists there. Is your daughter a naturist too?
