Does anyone here have experience of Ringstead Beach? Looks pleasant enough from what you can see online, and presumably it's fairly quiet. Ringstead is one of the fairly local beaches we have not been to, and we're wondering about giving it a try.
There is some information on-line with much grumbling about parking charges and the food kiosk. I've not yet been but planning to visit as the beach itself, whilst steep & stony seems to well reported. As I understand it you can park in the NT car park (free if you are a member) and walk down or enter the village and cough up £5.00 for all day.
@strapsure Thanks, yes, I have seen all the information online, including that on parking and the various comments on the cafe, etc. What I was wondering was about the nature of the beach, ie does it get busy? Is it quiet? etc, hence my original posting.
Visited Ringstead Bay late September a few years ago (2016?) and found it fairly quiet, maybe 10 or so other naturists by midday. Very pebbly and coarse sand but pleasant enough.
Parking at the shop was £5 then, may be more now? and a fair walk along the shore heading east to the naturist area.
I made the mistake of wearing walking sandals. Sturdy as they are, they didn't prevent the ingress of small pebbles so they were removed eventually and I walked/paddled along the water's edge until I found my spot.
I'd definitely visit again if I'm ever down that way.
Be naked- be free
Not been to Ringstead yet, but it's on my list as we are moving to Dorset in July.
Thinking about joining SWOC as well.
Al
I've only been once, early July a couple years back, and it was very quiet.
Ringstead is a quiet beach as compared to Studland, though I wonder if this will change this year with a lot of people staying in the UK for their holidays.
I enjoy the location, it`s a beautiful setting. There are two car parks , one down near the beach but there is a charge. The other is free, on top of the cliffs, with a spectacular view of the coast. This can fill up, it did last summer. The walk down is steep and a good" workout". There is track leading down to the beach path.
Being naked is one of the simple joys of life.
