I've been to Wild Pear, but it's not an easy beach to get to. I parked in the Kiln car park in Combe Martin, payed the Council ransom and then walked up the coastal path for what seems like forever.

It was 2019 when we last went, as Sillery sands Beach was closed due to a land slip. Wild Pear wasn't much better, as the base of the cliff footpath had washed away but someone had put a rope in place to get down over a lot of clay type mud.

Mrs App was not impressed as we were covered in the stuff after the ordeal of getting down, spoilt the trip somewhat.

Does anyone know if access has been improved ?

Weston mouth nr sidmouth on the south coast is good,  bit of a drive for you but worth it , lovely walk down to get to the beach 

I checked it and Monknash is 90 minutes drive, mainly on the M5 and the M4, away from you.

I consider Monknash the best nudist beach: few people around during the week, outstanding scenery and a great atmosphere.

I visited Monknash numerous times, often walking nude hours without seeing a soul.

@edward_baldwin I was there on Friday last, nice and warm but breeze was a bit cold! Went the ladder way think next time will go back to the farm car park not much difference in time either way and that ladder is steep!!

And....I was there Sat and Sun just gone!!...Wasn’t intending to be in the area but circumstances changed so made the most of it!

I stayed in the Cliff Top Cafe car park at Nash Point this time..£3 for the day and worth it with toilets and cafe offerings!

Great walks along the beach to Monknash and also Southerndown with some breeze but ok. Super walks along the cliff tops coming back but windy as hell!!

Used the ladders too and the refurbishment makes it safer but the new concrete steps are a bit steep!!

A few people there but my usual spot was ‘free’ and so I enjoyed a relaxed time...fab!!

When I was near 'your' waterfall I thought about you 😀 . I took a photo of the lovely bluebells.

To be honest, I think this is a truly beautiful piece of coastline. It has such diversity and variety, from stunning geography, amazing geology, flora, fauna and the fact that at any time of year there is something different to see. The coastal erosion is light-speed on a geological scale but it's a natural process and results in a truly dynamic coastline with beach and cliff features constantly changing. Hence 'hanging valleys' with their 'water features' and one, of course, is a lovely waterfall that pours onto the beach and at its best in spring/winter when the rains have swelled the streams further inland. The tidal range for this estuary is the second highest in the world and needs to be respected, walks along the rugged rocky sections need to be undertaken with prior knowledge of the tide times or else being cut off is a real threat and being backed up against the cliffs by the incoming tide also increases your risk of being caught under a rockfall! I witness tumbling stones every time I go there but large rockfalls occur every year! For me this is nature at its best and to be able to engage with this environment whilst being a naturist is something rather special indeed!!
