Thinking of trying out a bungalow for 4 nights at the start of June, as it's not far from malaga and very reasonable before the end of June. Anyone been there?
I haven't been, but it's my favourite part of Spain. Please write up your experience when you get back. I might try it in the next couple of years.
I'm fully booked, and have a 2 bedroom 'chalet' for a 4 night stay, starting on 6th June. For people that may be interested, it cost 284 Euros, which included a discount for joining their loyalty club (no cost). There were lots of special offers in June when I boooked.
I thought that cost was very reasonable, especially if you went with friends, as it's two bedroom.
Annoyingly, single males must have a BN membership card (which I have anyway), but couples don't need one! Will let you have a review when I get back.
We are in the process of booking 46 nights there in September with our mo-ho, on what will be our third trip there. Close to the lovely resort of Torre del Mar, ample shops and beach bars, we found one little taps bar off the beaten track, 1euro a plate. Walk the back tracks below the bull on the hillside to Almayate and some many bars there....grab yourself a Smurf!
@linlanc Might see you then, as I'm provisionally booked again for 5th to 9th September, if I like the site....
Just back. Didn't hire a car, so got the bus from Malaga for 2 Euros 35 - great value, and 5 minutes walk from bus stop. Great time at Almanat and impressed with facilities. Check-in smooth, and chalet clean and comfortable. Outdoor pool was fantastic. 2 Euros a day for sunbed hire, and onloy really busy from 5pm to 7pm when people return from the beach. Talking of the beach it is dark sand and shingle. Sea was flat calm two days and rough for two more - very dependant on wind conditions.
Beach restaurant was fine. I had lunch ther most days. Not expensive - beer (Euros) 1.80, Gambas Pil Pil 8, Pizza 7. Not greatest quality, but perfectly acceptable. There is an on-site shop, but it has very limited stock (bread runs out in the morning out of season!).
Very few Brits in June, mostly Spanish and French, but I thought it was excellent value for the money I paid!
