Funny isn't it how councils do not need to consult or can break the law. Along the river where i live they have cut down trees on the bank to create a beach area. This is even though less than 20 yards away there is an area with no bank side vegetation at all. So the nesting birds and badger sect have gone!!

@chrisgb, it appears that the work that is going on is in connection with Kew Gardens and Wakehurst Place. My wife and I were watching a programme about Kew Gardens and this came up as they are re-introducing sea tolerant plants back on the beach and the walkway is in order to not disturb the area being horticulturally regenerated. Sea kale being the major installation! I do agree with everyone in this post about timing and location and a further invasion of the naturist setup at Black Rock!
I can see how some might see it as "an invasion" but I see it different. The path is just being routed through a part of the beach so as to help the plants thrive. The fact that naturists use that part of the beach is neither here nor there. They are just an accepted part of Brighton life.
