If we have some sunny days next week we hope to visit one or two nudist beaches in the UK, my partner has said he'd like to take a few photographs of me on the beach.  Can anyone enlighten us to what the etiquette is when takig photos on a nudist beach?  🙂

Hi Anna,
Essentially no one is going to mind as long as the camera is pointed directly at you and no one else.

You might want to check that there are not people in the background who might get caught in the shots too.

I wouldn't be waving the camera when it isnt in use around as it could disturb other users of the beach/area but if you want some photos then there's no reason why you cant take them.

Like alot of things it just requires a little bit of awareness and respect for other people's enjoyment as well as your own I think.

Hi Ollie

it would only be me in the shots but just wanted to know that it is ok to take photos.

I think most people have photos taken of themselves on the beach with no problem, even me. Just hope you get some good sun to enjoy the beach.

I'd agree with the above and have also had someone take my picture for me in the past. I think other beach users will be able to tell sensible use of a camera amongst friends / partners and unwanted intrusion of their privacy. Here's hoping that the sun keeps shining.

So did you do anything about it? If so what and what was the response?

Have fun,

My wife and I have often taken each other's picture on a nude beach.
The important thing is to be quite open about it and to make it quite clear that you are not interested in pictures of other people.

It is usally easy to exclude others by using the sea, dunes or cliffs as a background.

Give me a call I take them for you! lol

In my experience what others have said is about right. Don't be affraid to ask others if you want shots of the two of you together either as most people are happy to oblige.

If you're using a digital camera, you would be able to show other people that they are not on your pictures and have no worries about being in the news of the World.

Sorry, I forgot that Harold Camping predicted the end of the World earlier this year.

culprit was partially dressed & was able to leave the
beach before i could confront him.

Sounds like the description of a typical culprit. 🙁

The thing to remember is it's a public beach and as such there is no law to stop people taking photographs of you in a public place.  It's more a matter of courtesy than anything else - and keeping the peace I guess.
