We've taken innumerable photos of each other on beaches with no problem. Some of those I've taken abroad, thinking of a few in Croatia, do have other people in them to the side of the photo but they are looking at the focal point of the said pics, a liner anchored offshore and are facing away anyway!
I think naturists are sensible enough to know the difference between holiday snaps and deliberate pictures of other people which we have never done. Also, people are usually happy to take pics of you together.
'I figure life's a gift and I don't intend wasting it. You never know what hand you're gonna get dealt next.' Titanic.'Shine as a glow worm if you cannot as a star.' Thomas Andrews, shipbuilder.
'We'll miss the matinee but we'll make the night show.' The Greatest Show on Earth 1952.
I got caught out once. We'd been on a New Zealand naturist beach and had swam naked. We left and I thought I'd like a wide angle shot of the beach to remind me of a wonderful day. I popped back clothed and took a quick wide angle shot. There was only a handful of people on the beach and well into the back ground. If I'd been a pervert I'd have hidden behind the rocks with the 300mm lens I've got.
Anyhow a chap, a naturist challenged me. Obviously they'd had problems in the past. I explained who I was and why I'd taken the picture. We parted on good terms and I suppose being a naturist I felt I'd had my feathers ruffled.
On reflection he was right and perhaps we need to be more robust about the pests on our beaches.
Below is the photo. We do need to think before we press the shutter!

I'll never take a camera to a nudist beach again! My wife took photos of me and my son with our magnificent freshly built sand castle at Studland and I took some of her in the water. We were basically threatened by a very hostile middle aged women who was with a large family group about 50 yards further up the beach. It was only a small camera, not anything with a big lens and we just wanted some holiday snapshots. Big mistake! Ellis

Some people need to use their common sense! What was she thinking and who the hell did she think she was!
Play nice...... Play Naked!
I wanted to take a photo of my family (2 boys and my wife) on Studland beach. There was a couple behind our beach tent, I ask the couple if they didn't mind just moving to one side while I take the photo, the gentleman was over the moon that I had asked and he said "I'll do better than that, I'll take the photo for you if you like, then you can be in the photo too" very nice of him I thought.

Yet another example supporting my contention that if you are open and considerate about what you are doing there will be no problems whatsoever.

I do not see the difference between a clothed beach and a nudist beach, as long as you are open and everyone around can see that you are only taking holiday photos of each other then why not, we do it and have never had a problem.
Of course if you are fully clothed yourself and taking photos or people sunbathing on any beach, then you are plainly asking for trouble.
We don't object to people taking photos of us, although we would appreciate it if they kindly asked first. Courtesy costs nothing and genuine nudists will appreciate this.
We actually had somebody ask us for our consent to take pictures of us on our boat recently.
Even the BBC didn't bother with that courtesy, not to mention hundreds of visiting tourists.
I'm not sure how that relates to naturist beaches, but I'm pretty sure I was photographed by tourists in Regent's Park the other Monday.

Have taken many pictures on Spanish beaches , not just of Mrs A but with others in the background & Nearer ,
I have never experienced anything other than indifference from other beach users there.
My advice is take your pictures abroad . You are almost certain to be challenged by the " You cant do that " Dads army types in the UK. To be fair our beaches are infested with pervs who are rarely seen abroad. So it understandable if people dont wish to be photographed.
Vera Playa is a big and beautiful Spanish beach. This is a family beach, making big difference because there's a lot of kids in summer. There won't be indifference if kids not of your own get on your memory card. Better be careful about the way you hold and roll your cam.
I think taking just one picture of no matter what happening in your viewpoint then keeping it for yourself is not the true worrisome thing. But we got internet, copying/pasting and social networks, all of that added with nudity to really make it boil. Imaging your picture replicated thousands of times, sent to thousands of people, you never know whom, then printed out, kept on iPods, PC's, pinned to the wall and etc. You never really know who, where and how finally handle it and the way they use it. Some masters of Photoshop may even alter it and add "features" and captions then start copying. Now think of your neighbours and colleagues and your kid's classmates receiving this "work of art" and recognizing someone they know.
OK, suppose you know of this and take all the precation. But, once you photo is in your computer, you cannot 100% prevent it from leaving it one day and starting travel on its own. Even if you are a computer geek, you may simply miss the thing your computer were used by your wife/hubby or your kids when you left it logged in and unattended just for a couple of minutes.
But most people don't go that far about security at all.
Now, imagine you posted your photos to a website, then everyone who gets access may copy/paste then misuse it, by accident or on purpose.
The better thing is to never take any nude picture at all 🙂 But if you can't help but tempting, then keep in mind there's always tiny probability your pictures leak to the internet.
What happens next? It depends of their value. I'm very certain poorly taken pictures never make it further than first recipient 🙂 But kid pictures is a different story even if they are bad because of word "pedophile" making its way to the news.

If you go nude in a "public" place when others are around you will be in someone's photos eventually anyway, even if you don't take any yourself. You can't stop it. Photos of you will end up on other people's computers. You have no control over them, unless you want to take action for copyright if they are used commercially or to damage your reputation. You likely won't even know they have been taken.
Only once have I actually come across nude photos of myself on the web taken by someone else without my knowledge, and that was in an album of pictures from Abbey House Gardens. I bet there are more.
Cheers,
nib
I'm safe - who'd want my pic!!!???
Seriously we have to be aware that we don't own the copyright on our own mugs. Whilst there may be potential public order offences of sticking a camera in someones face you actually don't have the right to stop someone taking any pictures in a public place and that includes those with your face.
Like Nib I expect I grace someones photo album. It does not cause me concern
