I went to Plakias many years ago but I have no pictures of this beach. It's good to be reminded.

Photo of windy day at Plakias takes me back! I think it was 1988 when went there and my wife-to-be discovered the joys of nude bathing.

I remember one day it was so windy we couldn't leave the apartment,  tables and chairs flying everywhere!
Also lying on the beach sometimes you'd see airborne sea water flying towards you - very refreshing when its 40 degrees but sometimes caught you unawares. 
Loved SW Crete though.

thats where i first went nude, 20 years ago - happy times.

then little banana, skiathos, funny how you travel the world, go to a nudist beach, lie down and then you hear your (now ex) wife's name being called and an old school friend is there with her nude juggling boyfriend.   when i sai nude juggling i mean he was juggling in the nude not juggling with nudisys.

If anyone is looking at Santorini, there is a lovely naturist beach at Vlychada that we found two years ago.

Lovely taverna and small harbour as well....

We stayed at Kamari and hired a quad bike to get there each day!

I haven't been to the Greek islands for a few years now but when I was last there nudity was against the law.  I don't think things have changed.

However, most guide books indicate that nudity is accepted on beaches throughout the islands.

Nearly every where I've been to in Greece I've found a naturist beach or I have been able to go naked somewhere.

Obviously, popular resort beaches and town beaches are textile.  Beaches near/adjacent to hotels and tourist accommodation are also textile.  And, as tourism becomes more popular and more tourist apartments and hotels are built some of the beaches that were naturist are not any more.
Once away from these tourist centres, and it may be simply the far end of the beach or around to the next bay , you will be able to be naked.  If you are discrete you can get away with being nude on a popular beach, but don't get up and wander about while naked.

As ever the further you walk along the coast away from a resort the fewer clothes you will, probably, need.  The other thing that happens a lot in Greece is that the first people on the quiet beaches set the trend.  So, get there early and strip off and others will follow your example.  This is because people are cautious, they're only around for a week or two and uncertain of what the conventions on a given beach are. 

Also, it's easier to be naked at the start and end of the season rather than when the crowds are there in July and August.

Hire a bike and explore the coast or get a local boatman to take you to a deserted beach.  I always look out for the old donkey tracks which lead to all manner of interesting places if you've the energy.  Even if they only take you to an inland village they avoid the roads and traffic.  I've walked naked for miles along these old tracks and arrived at unspoilt villages for a leisurely lunch before returning to the coast for a swim and sundowner.

It makes me want to pack my bag and get going.

We have just retuned from Plakia, met some lovely far enders a couple from Liverpool and two couples from Telford, happy days!!

I've just recently returned from Kos where I visited an excellent naturist beach at Tigaki (sometimes called 'Tingaki').
The beach was quite busy, in fact I had trouble finding a spot that wasn't too close to others.
I believe I could have walked further along the beach to a quieter area, but it was a VERY hot day, not conducive to long walks on soft sand (doing that always makes my ankles hurt after a while  :-[)

The beach is a little way left (west) of the main beach, and is situated in fromt of the large salt flats.
I've been told that at certain times, flies from the salt flats can be a major problem, but it was OK while I was there.

I only managed one day on this beach, as I was with non-naturist friends.  :'(

Tropical beach 3 miles out of Kardemina , mainly brits , but scattering of german,dutch and italian . Wonderful deach and sea , very relaxed and worth a visit.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned any one of the beaches on Mykonos where nudism is tollerated and whilst not officially "official" most have made their name by being known as nudist beaches.  having lived here for 5 years I have tried them all but would recommend Paranga beach as being perhaps the best.  The others of note are Pardise, Super Paradise, Agrarri, Elia, Lia - all on the south coast, and when the wind is in the right direction, Agios Sostis in the north.  kapari is a secluded beach with no ammenities.

I have been naked on Mykonos, Ios, Paros, Naxos,Milos, Santorini, Corfu mind you that was in the 80's but think Crete is best now.

I always reckon Tingaki on Kos to be one of the best I've ever been on. The naturist section is right at the eastern end of the main beach and not that populated. I once went to Skiathos, but didn't go much on the famous Little Banana, at least in August. Far too crowded. Elias on the north of the island is better. It has a laid back, hippy feel to it. That's probably my favourite in Greece along with Tingaki
Other places I 've naked out in Greece are Mykonos, Syros (tiny and crowded), Serifos, Milos (possibly one of the best nude beaches I've been on, Naxos and Antiparos. A lot of them are off the beaten track though

Syros (tiny and crowded),

We've been to Syros many times as we have friends with an apartment there. The beach you probably refer to is Armeos (by Galissas) which is the only signed naturist beach. It is quite small and does get a good number of people but I've never found it crowded. There are 2 lesser know naturist beaches if you find yourself there again.

Delfini (north from Kini) tends to be naturist on the left side as you look out to sea wheras the right side (by the taverna) is textile.

Lia is further north on the island and is only accessible by footpath down the valley (about 30 minutes from memory going down - a bit more to get back) or by boat. There are no facilities and naturally it does not get many people. We got a taxi to drop us off on the road where the footpath starts and pre-arranged a pick-up time later in the day.

Both these beaches are sandier than Armeos.
