I have had 2 great holidays there, Jandia and Costa Calma. Take a car and you can find some lovely quiet beaches. Highly recommend Mal Nombre.

I have yet to go to Fuerteventura. It sounds lovely but also a bit on the quiet side. Is there much of a nightlife there? I like to sunbathe naked by day and hit the bars/clubs on a night-time, all within walking distance or short taxi ride of accommodation which is why I usually go to Gran Canaria. Would Fuerte cater for something similar?

I don't know much about the South of the island but I would expect Corralejo to meet your requirements.
Have a search on Fuerteventura Forum and/or ask the question there.
You will get more good advice and pointers than you can deal with.

There wasn't much nightlife where i went Princess Hotels but only went for a quiet break. ::)
I believe there is one Pub in Jandia.
But some great beaches 🙂

Fuerteventura 1

Fuerteventura has so many naturist friendly beaches it is difficult to choose the best, in the end it comes down to personal preference, so I will share one or two of my favourites.

As you head south past Costa Calma towards Morro Jable, the road basically follows the coastline and over looks the wonderful Jandia golden sandy beaches which extend 32 kilometres right down to Morro Jable itself. From Costa Calma south all this expanse of sand is widely used by naturists many of whom walk for hours along the shoreline stopping now and again for a swim. Small beach bars are found every so often and little castles of rocks are built here and there to protect sunbathers from winds, which at times can be strong. On a hot day the breeze can be very welcome as temperatures climb way past 30’C. The sands and seascape are in places unbelievably beautiful, and it is this part of Fuerteventura, because of the strong winds, that hosts the world windsurfing championships in July. There several windsurfing and water sport schools in the area.

Just about 5 kilometres before Morro Jable, overlooking the beach is the Club Jandia Princess hotel, where we have stayed twice, travelling with Thomson on a half board basis. A friendly hotel, the rooms face the sea although not all have a sea view as such. We asked for a high room, and as other guests did not overlook us, we were able to use the room and balcony nude. By one of the small pools is a large sauna area with changing room showers etc .The sauna is open from 16.00 and used 99% nude, the pool nearest is as a plunge pool. Next door to this hotel is the sister hotel Fuerteventura Princess, this has a special naturist section with sauna, steam room, showers, sun beds and swimming pool all sheltered from the wind and other guests. However rooms at this hotel are overlooked by people in other rooms and those walking by, so the balcony cannot be used nude. Many people from the Club Jandia Princess use the naturist area at the sister hotel Fuerteventura as well as the other entertainment facilities.

There are steps down to the beach from the two hotels above and walking left past a couple of restaurants leads to the miles of sandy shoreline described above. About 15 minutes walk in this direction you pass the Monte Marina self catering naturist apartments which can be booked from various naturist holiday firms, including Chalfont Holidays.
If from the hotels you turn right instead you can walk at low tide to Morro Jable in around one hour.

Fuerteventura 2

Last time I described some of the beaches in the south of Fuerteventura this time I will talk about the wonderful National Park sand dunes in the north of the island near Corralejo.

I first went to the National Park dunes in 1993, and over the years, the sea and wind have made some changes, but as this is a protected area man’s changes have been limited. It is possible to walk nude from the outskirts of Corralejo for miles, both along the shoreline and among the dunes themselves. The golden sand has been blown on the wind from the Sahara desert, itself only less than 200 miles away. As on, most Spanish out of town beaches nude and clothed mix in varying proportions all along this wonderful coastline. Various beach bars and restaurants are dotted down the beach, and just a towel wrapped round you is all that is needed to sit and eat at these. Sun beds are available in several places and the hirers are happy to take cash from either nude or clothed customers.

We stayed at the Riu Oliva Beach hotel again asking for a high room so we could use both the room and balcony nude, I believe many others did the same. The Oliva beach hotel complex also has self-catering apartments and a nearby supermarket. The neighbouring Riu Tres Islas hotel is more expensive and has a privately run gym and sauna both of which can be used by non-residents. The sauna is on the roof of the hotel and is worth a visit just for the view; you can shower and sit on loungers looking out through the clear glass safety panels all along the shoreline below.

Other hotels and apartments are available in Corralejo itself including the self-catering Infiniti apartments that increasingly have naturist weeks. Bus and taxi services run regularly from the town to the Oliva beach complex, and it is only 300 yards from the drop off point near reception to the beach.

Reviews like these make excellent reading, and may encourage more hesitant holidaymakers to book somewhere. Equally, they may save someone a wasted week if you draw their attention to something that might put them off a particular resort.
I was able to convince my wife to try a nude beach for the first time after showing her articles and reviews on this site.

There are no naturist sections to any beach in Fuerteventura - but only a few bits immediately in front of certain hotels and in the middle of towns and villages are totally textile.
The rest is all clothing-optional and the proportion varies from week to week, day to day and hour to hour.
Walk and you will find - alternatively, ask your tour rep. or at reception.
