While Ireland doesn't, I think, have any officially designated nudist beaches, I have sunbathed (between a quarter past eleven and five to twelve one Monday in August...the entire Irish summer in other words) nude in Donegal. And even encountered swimming in the north Atlantic Ocean. Brrr.

Quite a number of Irish beaches seem to be about two miles long, with maybe one access point. Ride a bike to the far end and you've usually got the place to yourself to strip off, or else just the company of like-minded souls, mostly German or Dutch, in my experience.

Even if Jeremy Clarkson in a super car tries to do a time trial along the strand, you still have time to get dressed before he arrives

;D ;D ;D We love your Humour Ellie, if Jeremy Clarkson was heading for us in any type of car we would foget the clothes and just run. Well we would stand a chance if it was a Reliant Robin ::) To be serious we had not thought of Ireland, but those beaches sound to be the bees knees & worth considering.
Thanks for the idea,
Bev & Jack

Hi, Bev and Jack. Just remember to book your holiday for the afternoon of the entire Irish summer.  😉

It's fine if the weather's good. Unfortunately it's a 'four seasons in one day' kind of place and you could be sunning yourself in the morning and in your arctic thermal gear in the afternoon.

I'm also reminded, just having been reading some James Joyce, that Dublin has -marked on the map- "Gentlemens Bathing Places", which was always code for skinny dipping. I've not been there for years, but as far as I recollect there is also a "Ladies Bathing Place", for the same purpose, but segregation of the sexes was very much encouraged, and goes back to the days before public baths or internal plumbing, and artisans could use these beaches for their daily/weekly bath.
