Does anyone have information as regards “Wild Pear Beach” North Devon?
I have read in the book “Bare Britain” that this beach has been closed due to the pathway being washed away, the book is dated 2005 and I wonder if now three years on, is it still closed?

I have used this beach regularly this summer, as in many years past.
True the steps were washed away a few years ago, and last winter the replacements were seriously damaged by the storms (see photo albums) but access has always been available, maybe not to the seriously infirm, but with care most can make the journey down.
It is well worth it. my favourite UK beach by far.( probably I'm prejudiced since it is only 20 mins from home.)

Now that is just unfair Don - I have to drive 3 hours to Dyffryn (the closest nice naturist beach to me)!!!!!!
