I was up at Druridge Bay beach the other day having a look around to find the naturist beach mentioned in BN guide. Talking to someone up there, they told me that the naturist area was no more because, apparently, problems with single gay guys meeting up there.

Anyone else heard about this ban as I cannot seem to find anything on the web to say it's no longer naturist tolerated

Hi Paul,

Yes unfortunatly that is the case, which is a shame as it was used by genuine naturists for a long time!

Actually it's not a shame, it's a disgrace!  I don't know why some people have to spoil others pleasure simply because they can't control themselves, but then you only have to look at life in general, in so many areas, to know that in the modern world the only ethos that matters is selfishness.  (I promise not to mention the Bankers!)

Boundaries are there to be stretched!

It is more than probable that there was actually no trouble whatsoever from the gay contingent (if it actually exists) and that this was used as an excuse by the rabid anti-nudism tendency (they are few in number but very noisy).

I was just having a look through the beach section, as the weather has looked fairly promising of late....Druridge is a great beach and due to its size and dunes has excellent naturist potential....I hope this summer genuine naturists use it, more couples, families and females....as this would attract the genuine naturists back. Single males drew negative attention initially then a small few people let the side down with, lets say other activity. As somebody who mainly uses the beach just for walking or keeping fit, I think if it gets bad press this year from a naturist point of view its definitely finished. Genuine people enjoy!
