Sue,
The CO Beaches map shows Hengistbury Head as being nearby, although as usual requires a bit of a trek to reach.

My copy of Bare Britain, admittedly a few years old, lists Taddiford Gap. No idea if still possible to go bare there.

You can get to Hengistbury Head from Mudeford Quay via a short ferry trip. If you walk along the sea side of the head towards Bournemouth you will leave the beach huts behind and come to an area under the cliffs. This is supposed to be where you can go naked. I haven't been there for years but I recall it being quite quiet. No idea if any people really strip. Otherwise there are a couple of spots on the Purbeck coast but its a long drive from Xch and a long walk at the end of it.

Hengistbury under the cliffs is listed though I have not visited personally
Taddiford Gap near Milford is used too- I have spoken with a regular user.
Studland does take some beating and you can get the bus to beat the traffic queues. Or better still, cycle!!

I visited Taddiford (between Barton and Milford on sea) this July, it was as busy as I've seen it (maybe 30 people over a 500m stretch). It's been removed from the NUFF list of c/o beaches at the request of the landowners, so there must have been a complaint or something.
Use with discretion as I'd hate to lose this stretch of beach. Beware nasty metalwork in the sea (remnants of WW2 defences) in a couple of places.  If you pick your place with care, you won't be overlooked from dog walkers along the cliff top.

I swim at Taddiford Gap and enjoy it there. You walk on to the beach from Taddiford Gap car park. Turn right and wlk wets towards Barton. Naturist area starts in about 50 yards and on to far end. Shingle beach. High cliffs behind you so well screened from walker etc.

It's a great beach for swimming - you could possibly get away with turning left at the cliff top too with a bit of discretion as it's not used very much at all.

Turning left heads you towards Milford beach. There did used to be naturists using this section of beach but not so much these days for some reason. It's a long stretch of beach, about 15 minutes walking before reaching the first people using Milford beach.

The cliffs are high behind the beach and the shingle is also pretty steep so it's easy to sunbath without being seen. Only people walking the foreshore will come across you. Just turning over or using a towel to avoid offence seems to work fine.

This makes it very good for a first time naturist who needs a quiet area to get used to feeling naked.

It's so quiet that some months back I had a super 10 minute walk naked back at low tide along the sand.

Can't see anyone has mentioned Calshot.  Not quite Mudeford but if you are from Portsmouth/Southampton/  Romsey-way it is one of the closest.  Details are on NUFF but, in brief, it is a narrow fairly long strip (no pun!) of shingle backed be a low cliff and private land.  Nice to watch the boats coming and going on the Solent>

I'll give Calshot a try this summer (if we get one  ::) ) as it's nearer for me than Taddiford. Is it safe to swim, bearing in mind the currents near Calshot Spit?
Have visited the area many times for walks, and can recommend the little cafe by the roadside for tea and cakes.

Here's a photo of the cliff at Taddiford Gap taken around 1990. Anyone familiar with the place will notice how much of the cliff has disappeared since!
