It doesn’t appear to be a BN event, I’ll check on the BN forum, or maybe you could email Amelia at the email below, and check with her directly.

So, Amelia got back to me about the opening, this was her reply:

"Happy for non members who are Naturists to write to me if they'd like to attend to clothing optional viewing."

So, you need to email her if you wish to attend. HTH 🙂

As I couldn't attend Amelia's talk, I did the next best thing and bought a copy of her book. It is a good but brief read but the photos are stunning. I can recommend it to those members whose other half is reluctant to step into public naturism.

Oh for goodness' sake! Currently choked up with Man Flu, so I may not make it to the swim on Sunday 🙁

That’s a bummer! Still, it’s only Wednesday, so maybe you’ll feel better by Sunday? Get well soon!

I’m really looking forward to meeting those who are going on Sunday (weather etc. permitting). Apparently, the swim membership for the year is only £5 at the moment, so a great time to join!

Thanks Janey! I've now got a chesty cough, so probably more wise to give the swim a miss this Sunday. I need to try and recover so I can do my planned 100km bicycle ride on Sunday 18th of Feb. (and a 200km one on the 4th of March!)

Regarding Amelia's clothing optional event at Gallery Close in Edinburgh, one or two commented about whether you can be seen from outside and if the media is to be in involved.  I emailed Amelia about those concerns and I post her reply below:

"The clothing optional view will be quite low key. I had one at my last exhibition in London and it was a huge success with a great turn out so I thought it might be an idea to do another one. It will be in the gallery which has a glass window to the street. The gallery is quite small but it is not in the city centre so I don't expect it will be hugely busy on the street. I don't like covering up windows I think it defeats the point and contradicts the whole ethos behind my book and images and from my last exhibition and clothing optional view I had requests to leave the gallery doors open whilst people were unclothed. "

I love being in my skin

Sorry you won’t make it to the swim Naked Archer. Sounds like the right thing to do though. Those sound like quite tough bike rides! Wow! I haven’t cycled for a very long time. Hope you’re feeling better in time for them.

I’m not actually sure I’m going to make the swim myself now 😟 Nothing wrong with me, just life conspiring against me. I’ll see how things are in the morning.

Do you think you’ll be going to the exhibition opening then Victor? If you do go, I’d really like to get my book to you, to get it signed, if possible? I’ll actually be in Edinburgh that day, so if we can’t meet beforehand, I could get it to you before the event (My event starts at 2pm, I think).
Anyway, see what you think.

Did anyone make it to the swim on the 11th? Or the BN Meet and Greet?

Olderman 76 (Keith) made it along to both, but from the sound of it was the only one at the meet and greet!! 😲 Juliette Taylor did post on the BN forum, that the weather had turned nasty out their way, but that they hoped to be there and would have a little BN flag on the table to identify themselves. Keith messaged me to say he was there, but didn’t seem to think anyone else was!

How are you feeling now, Naked Archer? Fit and ready for your bike rides?

Hi folks. I did indeed make the swim last Sunday. I did speak to a number of people but didn’t identify anyone from the Beach Group. Notwithstanding this, I had a great time. Everybody was so friendly and welcoming and I felt truly at home. I made it up from the Borders by train and thankfully had booked to stay the night at the nearby Novotel. Not a cheap trip but really worth it and I can’t wait to book in for next month. If anybody from the Group was there and I didn’t get to speak with you, I’m sorry. I was the bearded gentleman with the plastic boots! Hope to see you there next time I go

I'm better now  Janey, wouldn't say I'm 100% though, but I'm going to do my 100Km event on Sunday. At least it will be a good gauge of how well I should do on my 200km event on the 4th of March!  ???

A shame that the BN Meet And Greet wasn't succesfull.  Glad you enjoyed your trip to the swim, Olderman76!

Glad you're feeling better now! How did the bike ride go?

Thought I'd let everyone know that I've left the Naked Scotland Forum... I really wasn't getting anything from it anymore, and it was exhausting just filtering out the time wasters. Much better to just be on here and the BN forum 🙂

So, I'm really hoping to make it along to The Arlington this Sunday, 25th. If anyone else is going, it would be great to see you there. I just feel like it's been too long since I was there! Last week I missed it because my husband had a medical emergency, which has stretched out all week - opthalmic shingles - He's much better now, but it was totally exhausting to go through, for both of us! Lots of back and forth to hospital and appointments...

So, hopefully someone I know will be there 🙂 I'll be getting the train through.

I managed the ride in 6 hours 55 minutes (subject to validation!)! Including a stroll up Restone Rigg in the Lammermuirs.  I really do need to work on my bike fitness.

Sad to hear of someone giving up on the Naked Scotland forum.  Any time I've suggested ways to make it a safer site for genuine naturists, those have fallen on deaf ears, for example a minimum post count to be able to send private messages, access to the chat etc.  The only thing I tend to use that forum for now is to keep an eye on the Glasgow Continental swim.

Speaking of which, I'm planning on attending this coming weekend (25th).

Sunday 4th of March, I have my 200km cycling event, although that will be dependent on if this Super Stratospheric Warming causes a Big Freeze towards the end of February and is forecast to last for a few weeks.  Although "Super Stratospheric Warming" does sound like a Tangerine Dream album!
