Went to the Falls again this morning. The water was a bit colder than it was on previous visits so this is probably the last time I will go this year.

Called at Lumb Falls last Tuesday (8th). Parked the motor on the lane by the bridle path and walked naked down to the falls. Weather was quite mild and the warmest I have seen before now. I arrived about 09:30 and stayed until 11:00 and had the place to myself. It took a while for me to become acclimatised to the temperature of the water, I can only put this down to the difference between the temperature of the water and the surrounding air but soon where enjoyed the swimming across the pool. I soon dried off in the warm weather so I didn't need a towel. I walked back up to the lane and put my towel on the driver's seat then drove home naked.

I will have to look this one up, not to far away for me.

Looks great, I'm camping near Hebden Bridge over the bank holiday weekend so was thinking about having a trip up there.

I usually go there on a Tuesday morning, that way I know it won’t get crowded. I have heard that it can get busy with tombstoners at the weekends.

No naturist tombstoners I guess, if sunny weekends are out, then I will have to wait until I have that rare day off work mid week when the sun shines.

I'm there from Thursday night so maybe Friday morning won't be as busy as Saturday/Sunday. Looks like a nice area for a walk anyway so I'll have a wander past and see how busy it is.

I went this morning, and had a brief but fantastically invigorating swim!
The weather was a bit on the chilly side, if it had been warmer I might have stayed longer but the water was cold and with no sun it was too chilly getting out to stay nude or get warm again for another dip.
Would be great to return one day when it is warmer.

It was a really great feeling too, I’ve been swimming in pools and in the sea at naturist beaches and campsites but this almost felt more liberating. I’m usually over cautious about going nude in non-naturist places but felt so at ease, almost oblivious to the fact it’s right next to a public footpath!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your swim James. Like I said before you do need to get yourself acclimatised. I usually start with a quick dip and gradually extend my time in the water, getting out at each end until I am confident that I can start doing a return swim.

I'll certainly try that next time I'm skinny dipping. It was possibly a bit of a chilly day to try for the first time, out of the water felt just as cold as in the water, maybe thats just because I'm not so accustomed to it.

I've finally got around to downloading the photos off my camera too, I got a few nice shots of the waterfall and had to do a self timer to record the event for posterity! It wasn't meant to be out of focus but I quite like the effect.

I decided to check out lumb falls on Saturday.  I work in Halifax so it's not too far. With the bad weather which had been forecast I thought I d just scout it out. Parking up I did consider if I should walk down naked, but the bad weather made me decide against it. Going down the path I passed a family group with 4 kids coming up.  It has been raining for about half an hour at this  so I don't know if they'd been using the pool and leaving because of the weather.  I have to sat, with the nettles and brambles on the path, I was glad I was protected.  Once I got to the bottom it started pelting down with torrential rain so I headed back up the path. My clothes were drenched by the time I was back at my Car and wished I had been naked to avoid the horrible damp clothes.
I will be going back but may take gloves so I can get rid of some of the nettles etc

Better luck next time dgaunt. At least you had some exercise walking down and then up the old bridle path.
