Here's a report of a short trip I made during the summer (5-Aug-10).

It's an example of an impromptu, short naked walk that I was able to indulge in with no forethought or planning while making the most of a particular situation.

I was staying in a holiday flat in the Old Porthcurno Hotel in Cornwall.  As had been the case this summer the weather had been variable but this particular morning I woke to brilliant sunshine.  I got up at 7.30, leaving the family sleeping, had a cup of tea before deciding to walk down to the beach.

Those of you who know Cornwall will appreciate it can be pretty busy in August.  I thought it would be nice to see the beach before it became too crowded.  So I set off wearing tee shirt, shorts and sandals.
On leaving the accommodation I immediately realised just how quiet it was at this time of the day.  I suppose all the holiday makers were just rising and breakfasting and the businesses were yet to open (waiting the holiday makers).

As I walked down the road I thought this was an ideal opportunity for a naked walk.  So off came my 2 items of clothing and I proceeded on my way.  I had to pass some houses and flats but as long as I kept close to their fences no-one would be able to see my lack of clothes.  There are tennis courts opposite but they were empty and the pub was, obviously at that time of day, closed.  I kept listening for traffic but I was in luck and nothing appeared.

Crossing the road I turned into the car park.  Again, I was in luck, the attendants' hut was still locked, there were a couple of parked cars, a camper van, and at the far end of the car park some council workers were just getting into their van and leaving (they didn't see me).

So I strolled on through the car park and down the rough track to the beach.  The life guard post was yet to open and I could see the beach was completely deserted.  Part way up the cliff on the western side of the beach is a large hut used as holiday accommodation.  There were 2 people sitting outside who looked to be reading.  I thought if they see me are they going to notice I'm nude but if they do so what.

I continued down onto the beach, where I walked down to the sea.  I strolled along the shoreline from one side of the cove to the other and then back.  Still no sign of anyone else.  I then climbed the steps and track up the cliff to the west of the beach and joined the coast path.

As I walked along I suddenly saw 2 people walking their dog coming towards me.  They must have descended from the cliff top.  It was too late to cover up and I found out long ago that it's easier to proceed naked than to attempt to do anything else.  I passed the couple and said 'good morning'.  They replied in heavily accented English.  (I later saw them again in the car park by the camper van - it had a Dutch registration.)

I carried on to the cliff top and walked past the Minack Theatre, closed, and through its car park to the road.  I had to pass several houses but there were still no signs of people.  As I turned the bends, as the road drops back down, I saw some gardeners working.  They were intent on their work and didn't see me.

I eventually covered up as I neared the beach cafe at the bottom of the hill which was just opening up.

This trip would be nearly impossible to repeat.  An hour later and the place would be filling up with holiday makers. Another time there would be traffic on the road, who knows?

I guess this trip falls into the secret naturism category but whatever it was an enjoyable start to the day.

Great experience Martin and your showed your confidence and comfort by not covering up with the dog walkers. As it happens I think the Dutch happily accept nudity where ever they may see it, but the response appears to be good anyway.

Great adventures like these stick in the memory for a long time 😎

That is a beautiful part of Cornwall and lovely place to walk with great views.  The sea and the sand is lovely with the water taking on a Mediterranean hue on a good summers day.
It is a shame there are not any naturist opportunities there and as you say it can get quite busy so you chose the right time for you walk.
