I haven't been to a nude beach since 2006 now.  Since then I've been on holiday to Germany and The Netherlands various times visiting the excellent (nude) spas over there.  This year though I hope to take a short holiday to Spain, ideally somewhere which has a good nude beach so I can get an all over tan.  I'm not sure where in Spain I will be going yet, I require your help in helping me decide.

Whilst looking up some info for nude beaches it becomes apparant that a lot of them are not very easy to get to by public transport, or even impossible(only possible by car or motorbike).  I do not have a driving license, so it would need to be a nude beach where it is easy to get to either on foot or by public transport from the town/city/resort area.  I'm looking for a nude beach which is reasonably busy, and attracts a decent enough balance of sexes.  Any suggestions please?  Thanks in advance.

If I could answer my own question.  One suggestion would be the nude beach in Barcelona.  Excellent nude beach, busy, and a fairly even balance of sexes.  About half hour walk from the city centre.  Or a short tube ride and then about a 15 minute walk.  Highly recommended.  (I have been to Barcelone three times myself and about a dozen times I've been on this beach.  I'd consider visiting again, but am ideally looking to try somewhere else in Spain instead).

Cheers.

Number one Naturist beach in Spain has to be Vera playa...

Lots of places to stay nearby, Vera Natura etc.. Plus the Vera beach hotel... Worth looking at...  🙂

Pretty well any beach on Formentera would be fine. You need to take a ferry from Ibiza but Formentera itelf is quite small and its shape means there's nearly always a beach within easy reach on foot. Otherwise, the buses work well, or you can rent a bike.

As well as lazing on the beach, you can happily go for long naked walks, almost anywhere outside the built-up areas. Well, almost naked: you'll need shoes, and probably a hat, but that's all.

If you're careful and a competent swimmer, you can swim (sometimes even wade) from the north tip of Formentera to Espalmador, though it's not formally encouraged. In the season there are also small boats which take people there  (and bring them back!). Espalmador was close to paradise when we went there many years ago, but it was a little out of season and we were based in our boat, then, anchored in the bay.

Yes Vera Playa is pretty. (Check the link by our signature). Perfectly sex-balanced in Summer and is not very crowded. We also think Fuerteventura is great--while is not a mainland Spain but Spain anyway, and probably not much difference for you this is an island as you won't be driving to it. You get to every place by foot once you are there.

Take a look at www.veraplayfriends.com there's plenty of information about Vera Playa and the area. There is also a forum at www.veraplayafriends.com/forum

Would have to recommend Costa Natura. Walk out of your apartment and down onto the beach.  Public transport .... no problem. Fly to Malaga, get the rail shuttle to Fuengirola. Hop onto the bus which will take you to all the way to Estepona, then local bus to bus stop outside Costa or a short taxi drive. Simples.

Thanks for the suggestions and info.  I will look into going to the beaches suggested.  I would be going probably around late June/early July.

Fuerteventura
- El Cotillo.
You may have to book your flts and accom. and a taxi transfer but it is most certainly a naturist paradise.
- Corralejo.
Find a hotel in Corralejo and there are miles naturist beach.

In fact, pretty much anywhere on Fuerteventura is naturist on the beaches except directly in front of big hotels.

I wouldn't go for a 6-8 week period from july to september as the island is invaded by Italians( nothing wrong with Italians but there not Naturist)

I encountered quite a few Italians (even some naked ones) last time I was there. Frankly, I don't care what they wear or don't wear as long as they afford me the same indifference - which they did.

What I and several other people did get steamed up about, though, - and showed it - was an attention-seeking motorboat driver (Italian, of course) who seemed hell-bent on driving his over-powered vessel almost up the beach, to the accompaniment of great quantities of noise and smoke!

So, from the peace-and-quiet point of view, I agree that high season is best avoided.

Why not try Playa del Torn at L'Hospitalet de l'Infant in Catalonia.  You could get a cheap flight to Barcelona and then take the train.  Beach is about 20 mins walk from the town and is itself a mile long.  It consists of sand, shingle and pebbles and has a beach bar for snacks and drinks about 2/3 of the way along.  Backed by pine woods.  There is also a campsite there which has some accommodation for hire.

It is our favourite beach and we go at least once a week during the summer even though it is an hours drive for us.  Easy to get to from the town just follow the signs to El Templo del Sol (which is the campsite) or Playa del Torn and park up outside the site and walk around the outside edge along the cliff and follow the steps down.  Or if coming up from the south take the N340 and as you come up the hill from Almadrava look for the right turn just over the top and follow the corniche down until you come to the car park and then walk through the tunnel onto the beach.

Just Wear a Smile
