I have a bit of a last minute holiday to arrange for roughly 11-18 Sept and would love to go somewhere where there are some good naturist beaches. I've been poking around online and it seems that the South of Crete has some naturist beaches. I was wondering about staying in Sfakia on the South coast of Crete - has anyone been there? Is it any good? I realise it's quieter than the resorts on the North, but that's OK.
I'm not absolutely set on Crete so if there are other recommendations (somewhere warm and sunny! :-)) then I'm open to ideas!
I believe there are some nudist resorts in quite a few places in/around the med, but being a single traveller I'm going to get stung by the dreaded "single supplement". Admittedly this is the case for a lot of accommodation, but as it seems that a lot of naturist resorts are aimed at couples, the supplement seems to be quite high.
Anyway, if anyone has any info or advice, I would be very grateful 🙂

Welcome from another newbie...I also live near manchester so agree that we have had a poor summer weather wise, so a trip to the sun looks like a good idea... We have arranged to go to Fuertaventura early next year.. Lots of good sandy beaches and I understand are good for Naturists...
I'm sure lots of others will give help and advice, which is better than mine, but, might be worth a look...

Fuerteventura is totally naturist friendly and there is a suitable beach within walking distance of every coastal resort hotel - ask the rep. or at reception for directions.
You may well be able to get a late booking High Street bargain which will partially negate the single supplement penalty.

South Crete is good for naturists.
Stayed at Plakias and many naturist beaches within the facinity.
Far end of Plakias beach is naturist. 😀

If your staying in Sfakia, you can catch the 10 15 water taxi from the harbour to Sweetwater beach, a fantastic naturist beach which has plenty of shade and a good taverna, Enjoy, we certainly did!!
