As I mention in a post regarding the NUFF under "general" on this forum, the site advises that a bus for Studland (and Swanage) goes passed Branksome railway station. However when I went last September the bus routing had obviously changed since the information on NUFF was compiled.

"When travelling to Studland by train and bus for the first time last Sunday, I found that the 150 bus to Sanbanks, Studland, and Swanage, does not go along the main A35 road which is directly outside Branksome station. It runs on the parallel Lindsay Road which is slightly further south.

After a "hint" from a newsagent who wasn't too sure, I ended up walking left along the A35 from the station (past the St Aldhelms Road turn on the RH side - see below), until I reached a Tesco store on my right, about a 1/4 mile at a guess. I crossed over by the front entrance of the store to reach Lindsay Road, there was a bus stop on the far side, another 100yds or so to my left.

After consulting Street Map uk my suggested route is as follows,

On coming out of Branksome station, turn right, and cross the A35 on the nearby pedestrian crossing. Ignore the nearby bus stop !

Turn left after crossing the road, and walk the short distance to where St Aldhelms Road joins the A35. Turn right down St Aldhelms Road, and its a short walk to Lindsay Road. Cross Lindsay Road and then look out for the nearest bus stop on that side."

I hope this is useful to anyone is travelling by train and bus to Studland.

I've an update to the previous message. I went to the B.N beach day at Studland today. The bus now starts from the "Interchange" bus station by Bouremeouth Rail station. however there wasn't a signed stop, nor was it listed on the matrix departure board, different companies I suppose !

Its a No 50 operated by Wilts and Dorset, and it went from a stand in the coach section. Its seems to follow a different route to last year, so I think the info I previously gave regards picking it up from near Branksome station is now wrong. Also it was fairly full in both directions, and people were left waiting at a few bus stops on the outward journey, so catching it at the start  is a good idea. The timetable is on the Wilts & D website.
