Today, for the first time in a long time, my day off coincided with gloriously hot and sunny weather.
After all chores finished, off to Wild Pear beach, doen the pathway, clothes being removed as I go, but a textile family close to bottom of steps to beach, so skirt back on,(yes skirt, denim one).
find my spot on the beach and survey the scene, the textile family, 4 of them, 1 fisherman, and 7 naked bodies (1F 6M), naturists are winning.
After a relaxing lie in the baking sun, feel the need to cool down in the sea, realise the textile group has expanded, over a dozen there now, middle aged rambling types it seems.but also a couple of naturists.
The sea is COLD so venture in only as far as my chest, daren't try swimming at this stage.
Return to my my beach mat, and snooze.
Laughter and voices rouse me, and what do I see - 5 nude bodies heading for the water, 1M 4F, soon to be followed by another F and 2M, the ramblers are taking to the water, and from the look of some of them, are accustomed to being nude.
They swim, so not to be outdone, I must regain my self confidence, and go and swim too, this time doesn't seem so bad, quite a pleasant splash around.
During the afternoon, I do a headcount of those that have seen useing the beach, 11 textile, 23 naturist. We are winning the battle for the nude beaches, well in North Devon anyway.

Has anyone been to Wild Pear recently? I was talking to a couple at Little Strand who were in the SW on holiday from London and they were asking about access to Wild Pear as when they went there last year or maybe the year before, they said access was too difficult and they gave up. I'd like to get up to Combe Martin sometime this summer but it would be good to know if its a worthwhile journey.
Thanks
Keith
Not been for couple of years, since the storms washed away steps down to be exact, could be more than two.....
Been told it's still a ballache to get to, but easier access to beach since they've mended the destruction
