I know it's the wrong time of year, but is everyone aware that there's a lovely naturist club campsite at Valley, Harrogate, North Yorkshire?  It's handy for the A1 for anyone travelling north or south, and visitors are welcome. Prices are very competetive.  You can site your caravan, and pay your membership fees for less than the cost of storage on most storage sites!  Non-member visitors with a tent pay £8.00 and with a caravan pay just £10 per night to stay, or there is a chalet and a club caravan available to hire.  We don't have hook ups, unfortunately.  We have a lovely shower block, with communal showers, but a ladies shower too, and with a visitors kitchen and disabled toilet facilities.  There's an older block, with shower and toilets.  We have a really nice licenced club house with light wood tables, and comfortable unholstered chairs, a wide screen TV, and bar.  There is a programme of events throughout the year, meals are made most weekends, and bank holidays, and the site is spacious and sunny.  Our next event is a 'Bonfire Night' with pie and peas, on the 27th October.

There's a good pub at the end of the lane, a variety of local shops, and walks into Harrogate and Knaresborough, plus cycle tracks, a nearby bus route, and a railway station with access to Leeds, York, and further afield.

We're on the doorstep of Herriot Country, the Yorkshire Dales, and there are loads of sightseeing opportunities.

The contact details on the website are incorrect at the moment, but anyone interested in having a look around, visiting the site, or with a view to joining, can post in this thread or email me at veronicaatvalley@googlemail.com

Don't forget that in 2014 the Tour de France passes Valley Club on the two Yorkshire stages.  Come and stay with us - book in advance - and get almost a ringside seat!

Hello Veronica,

We were considering coming this weekend but weather isn't looking too favourable  :'(

Could you tell me a bit more about the Chalet and caravan you have for hire, ie is there a minimum no. of nights that we would need to stay?

Many Thanks

D and C

No minimum number of nights.  Both are 'rustic', and somewhat old-fashioned - each has a small fridge and cooker.  Gas is provided - no electricity.  Both provide perfectly adequate and cheap accommodation for a naturist stay - and we have a visitors kitchen with cooker where you can prepare a meal.  You need to bring your own bedding, including pillows, sheets and duvet, towels, and food!

I don't know whether either is available for this weekend - but you could always bring your own tent!

I'm just about to add our Events Calendar to the website.  We've been on site today and it was absolutely glorious, so let's hope the weather forecast is wrong

Thankyou for the information Veronica.

Sounds great, we'll have to wait for a decent forecast, which judging by all the news articles we may get once the next iceage has come and gone ::)

Hopefully we'll make it up soon.

Regards
D and C
