Hi all,
I want to go to Holkenham this weekend, not having ever tried nudism before, but I'm a little worried by some of the stories and comments I've read browsing the internet. Being on my own, young (well ish - 30!) and male, I'm a bit worried about being mis-labelled and getting black looks, or maybe even attracting the wrong sort of (male) attention...
I centainly plan to avoid the dunes with their 'meekats??!', and keep my distance, but what do people think, am I worrying unneccessarily?
Chris
Hi Chris,
As a single male who goes to Holkham a few times a year I can safely say I've never had any problems. I usually stay out of the dunes (I'm usually to be found on the beach at the foot of the dunes - they make a useful backrest!). I think you've got the right ideas and you'll be OK.
Remember to take plenty to drink, lots of sunscreen and a windbreak if you have one. If you're driving and are going to park on Lady Anne's Drive remember to take £5 in coins or pay on-line -

I also check the local tide tables before I go so I have a rough idea of how far away the sea is going to be (you'll see what I mean when you get there!)
Other than that you just need to remember to relax and enjoy the freedom.
I hope to be at Holkham on Sunday if my work goes according to plan.
Hope that helps!
Noel
