I had my visit to fairlight today, having to drop some work off in Hastings I thought I would have a look at the famous Failrlight beach, having read a few beach guides and websites all having warnings of how the beach was closed, I did not know what to expect.
I parked at the country park parking site and had a very pleasant 15 minute walk down to the beach, there are no signs indicating the way, and I had to ask some couples struggling up the hill path which track to take, in places the path has had a lot of time and effort spent on it, making access to the beach quite a bit easier than I had expected, the walk down through the dappled warm sun light was great, and then you emerge out of the trees and are confronted with beach stretching into the distance. The beach is made up of stone boulders, shingle with patches of sand and quite a lot of naked peeps enjoying the afternoon sun, a good mix of couples and singles. there is a different feel to the beach compared with others we have visited. There are no dunes for all the guys behaving like meerkats, to pop up from with their field glasses.
The sea was warm and fairly calm, rock pools teaming with life, if young kids could manage it up and down the track youngsters would love it there. A lovely walk, a great bit of coast and a top naturist beach to return too.
keep it smooth and nude

Many thanks for the report Jay & Kay,
Despite having lived in Brighton for 60+ years we have never been.
Must try & get there soon, as it's not as difficult as reports elsewhere indicate.

I live in Hastings and use Fairlight a lot, I know it's a pain to get down to the beach but in the end it's worth it.
You could get there by walking along the beach from East Hastings but you must first check the tides.
Another nice beach close to Hastings is Normans Bay, it's between Bexhill and Eastbourne. you can get off the train at Cooden then have a 15 Min walk along the road by the side of the sea.

I went to Fairlight once and got a tad lost and gave up after 25 mins as I was on a time budget to start with. Perhaps another time?
