We are going on holiday to France late July early August and are staying in a friends gite (not naturist) for  most of the time, however we will have about 5 days camping towards the end of the holiday, and would like to know about any naturist campsites in the St Malo area (preferably small non commercial type)

I think the Dutch-owned Pallieter would be the nearest to St Malo - http://www.pallieter.fr/

It's a pleasant site and not too commercialised. We certainly enjoyed staying there.

Whatever you decide, have a good trip.

We stayed here last summer and didn't like it one bit. OK the weather wasn't that great but we felt it was tired and dirty. The pool was cold and scummy.

I also think we were the only UK people staying at that time and the site felt more Dutch than French. Friends of ours who have also stayed there echoed our sentiments.

I think it is a shame that that was our experience because it is in a lovely area.

Whilst a bit further to travel we can recommend Les Clos Marot http://www.anca-piriac.com/index.htm This is a French members site which has a lovely rustic feel and is a fraction of the price of Pallitierre

What's so funny about peace, love and understanding?

You're right, it WAS a good place.
Unfortunately this place closed early this year.
It was announced in February by the regional FFN group. Sorry.
Maybe somebody will reopen this center in the future... hoping it will stay naturist...

We where at pallitier in august 2013 and found everything great,I think where problems arise with regard to the site in early season is the fact that only arno and his wife run the place and things like the pool get left until high high season because they are busy getting the site up and running, also the cost of the pool is high to run so there has to be the right numbers of visitors to cover costs.
