Are there any naturist or clothing optional beaches on Zante?
Thanks
I'm not sure whether there are any official naturist or clothing optional beaches there, but there are certainly beaches where you can go naked and nobody seems to care. There's a well known one in the south of the island - I forget it's name - which is nice, but I did notice quite a lot of cameras about there.
If you are prepared to do a bit of trekking and rock climbing you can find pretty and less populated beaches on the island easily enough and provided you have some money to spend to help their economy I doubt the Greeks will mind if you are naked. I get impression that Greek people tend to me very pragmatic, especially when it comes to their tourist industry.
Also, when I was there a few years ago they were building a hotel, which I think might be this one: http://www.aphrodite-travel.org/vacaciones-nudistas/naturist-panorama/naturist-panorama.html Can't say for sure though as white buildings with red roofs are all over the place on Zakynthos.

As one who lives in Greece, the Greeks take their tourist industry very seriously as it equates to 80% of the country's income. That said, they are not a bit pragmatic about naturism. There are designated naturist areas on SOME beaches, however, those not designated will certainly frown on anyone stripping off and the penalties are quite severe. I don't know of any naturist friendly beaches on Zante, but if you go to one of the less populated beaches and stay at the far end - away from the crowds, you may be fortunate enough to spend the day naked without any hassle

I can update you on Zante. Crystal Beach and Kalamaki beach both see plenty of topless sunbathing on the sunloungers with no one batting an eye. The rocky outcrop between Crystal and Kalamaki beaches is fine for full naturism. I was quite close to a couple who spoke English (female was happily topless) and checked out of courtesy they were OK with me skinny dipping - they were of course. But the best place is Vrontonero beach. Park at the Cave Bar - it's well known - and walk down the path. You can wade from Crystal Beach, but I don't recommend it as it's rocky underfoot. This beach is very quiet. There were a few walkers going past over the cliffs, but no one minds. It is known in the area for being used by naturists. The water along these three beaches is shallow for some distance from the waterline. Swimming is lovely. But there are no official beaches on Zante.
