The 'Naturist Holidays World Site Directory 2013' at £10 delivered in the UK from BN, would be a good start. It is a pretty comprehensive mine of information.

http://www.bn.org.uk/community/store/product/159-naturist-holidays-world-site-directory/

The World's Best Nude Beaches and Resorts* also has info on Germany, Austria and lots on Croatia. And there are some addition places listed on the website updates:

http://www.barebeaches.com/wordpress/category/benelux-central-eastern-europe/

And some extra info on Croatia too:

http://www.barebeaches.com/wordpress/category/croatia/

And there is a FKK Europe 2013 guide written in German - which I haven't read - for sale on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/FKK-Reisef%C3%BChrer-Europa-2013-Anlagen-sch%C3%B6nsten/dp/3795603269/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1374241618&sr=1-1&keywords=fkk+2013

*Please note - as a co-author, I have a vested interest in the 'World's Best Nude Beaches'.

It's some years since we've been to Germany, visiting friends. I have a hankering to go back, but this time at naturist venues, perhaps on the western or southern parts of the country. I've got the Naturist Holidays guidebook and had a look on the Deutscher Verband für Freikörperkultur (DFK) site. Most places seem to be clubs rather than holiday venues. Some have limited rental accommodation.

If anyone has any personal experience of any German naturist site I'd appreciate learning from your experience.

On our recent late summer tour in our camper van we stayed for a few days at  Dreilandereck, near Neuenburg am Rhein - http://www.dle-naturisten.de/

We enjoyed the location and were made welcome. The facilities were good and we were surprised by how many young families were staying (more than we've ever seen in France at the same time of year - early September). The weather was good and everybody was friendly - suspect they don't see too many Brits. Most visitors were German of course and a handful of Dutch too. Oh, and a few Swiss as well. Don't believe we saw any French holidaymakers.

It is in south-west Germany, only just over the border from France, near Mulhouse. And only about 25 or 30 miles north of Basel in Switzerland. Because we were travelling in the camper we hadn't made any advance arrangements - just turned up with our BN/INF cards and we were in.

Let me know if I can help with more info.

Very many thanks - I'd seen that one, but it's so much better if someone can give a first hand report and I very much appreciate your reply.

It's still a fair time before we need to make a decision.

Not surprising. Summer holidays for schools in France are the same all over the country, and always end early in September (Tuesday 3rd September in 2013). In Germany, the dates vary according to the Land, and in some places children start school as late as 15th September.

Thanks for the information about the school holidays, especially in Germany. I didn't realise they could go on as late as that.

The detailed dates for the Summer school holidays in Germany for 2014, Land by Land, are available at http://www.schulferien.org/Schulferien_nach_Ferien/Sommerferien/sommerferien.html
In France, school will break up on 5th July 2014. The date at which school will start again has not yet been announced, but is likely to be Tuesday 2nd September.
