Today I read a report on tripadvisor about the beaches and lagoons at La Cotillo. The title read some like 'place spoilt by nudists'. This really got me annoyed. The gist of it was that, in my view, this person was upset because they had not done their home and found a nudist beach with people wandering around with no clothes on.
This is akin to booking a hotel outside a football ground and then complaining about the noise on match day. What the hell did he expect?

This effect is mainly caused by the reticence of package holiday companies relative to naturism on beaches.
For example - I have never seen the fact that they are in the middle of a three-mile clothing-optional beach mentioned in brochures for the two Rui hotels in Corralejo, Fuerteventura.

Maybe slightly off topic:  When I was working in the prison education department. My first day in the staff room I listened as several of the teachers related how they had accidentally come across a nudist beach.  Eh! Did they mean they accidentally couldn't read the whacking great sign??  Of course they didn't know I was a naturist. Tee Hee!  M

It use to annoy me too, that when reading reports on trip advisor someone always complains about to many naturist or the facilities allowing nude use. Now I use reverse logic, if the textile are complaining about a resort for those reasons then it must be good for us naturists.

I agree that the tour companies could help by including information about naturism in their brochures. I sometimes wonder what the German sister company of a well known British tour operators have in there brochures.

As a final thought, I have only once been to a welcome meeting at resort run by one of the UK big tour operators that have mentioned the near by naturist beach. That was in Menorca, the rep said for any naturists here or any one who would like an over all tan the beach at Son Bou is for you any one who would be shocked or disapproves then that is the beach to avoid. I thought that was the right attitude, the rest were useless not even mentioning the nude facilities in the Hotel. May be one day thing will change!!
