Just returned from Tenerife where we stayed in La Caleta, very close to the beach of Diego Hernandez.

We'd been looking forward to visiting this beach for a while so one afternoon took a walk past the lovely little bay known as 'hippy bay', where a few locals have set up camp in shacks and caves. As soon as we arrived here we noticed a few of these locals wandering naked around the bay. We passed by a rock pool containing lots of colourful sea life so decided to explore this area before heading to the main beach, and being as others were enjoying some naked time in the beautiful afternoon sun I thought this would be as good a time as any to strip off. I turned to my girlfriend to suggest this and found she'd had the same idea and was already taking off her clothes.

Once the clothing was discarded I wondered why I hadn't tried this years ago. It felt fantastic being unrestricted by clothing and feeling the sun and breeze all over my body.

We spent some time in the rock pools (taking care to avoid the pretty, brightly coloured crabs around the dangly bits!!), and a little horse shoe shape in the rocks which formed a sort of natural jacuzzi when the waves spilled into it, then set off to climb over the cliffs to the actual beach. We'd noticed a few clothed tourists heading up this way but thought being as we were enjoying our nudity so much we'd do the walk naked. This felt a little weird as we walked past the 'textiles' but we enjoyed the little naked hike.

The beach itself is a lovely small white sand beach, where again a few locals and tourists were camping out in shacks and tents, mainly at the far end past the little rocky section which separates the beach into two coves. There were a mixture of clothed and nude patrons, but mostly nude so we didn't feel out of place, and my girlfriends slight apprehension of finding mostly male beach goers were put aside when we found there to be a more or less equal split, male and female, young and old.

We enjoyed the afternoon so much that when the late afternoon breeze started to set in and with the sun going down we were sad to have to leave, and planned to be there early the next day to catch the first rays of warm sun.

The following morning our footprints were the first to wander across the fresh sand and we enjoyed sunning ourselves and swimming a good hour or so before anyone else arrived. I'd never been a big fan of swimming at the beach before, partly due to the horrible feeling of cold wet swimwear on leaving the sea, but once I'd experienced the feeling of swimming as nature intended I couldn't get enough of it. My girlfriend is a natural water-baby and said the only thing better than being in the sea was being in the sea naked!

Overall both my girlfriend and I took to our first proper naturist experience like ducks to water, and are already planning our next holiday, making sure our accomodation is as close to the nude beach as possible! We'll probably make it early in the new year as we can't stand the idea of not being able to enjoy the sun on our naked bodies for the whole winter!
