Has anyone been to Calshot beach yet this year ? I used to visit it a lot a few years ago when I worked near there but when I last went there was a sign up about no nude bathing and a new fence had been erected at the far end of the beach, this was a couple of years ago and I wondered if it was still used by naturists as I will be down that way in the next couple of weeks.

Hi

I went to Calshot a few weeks ago when it was really hot , nice beach with a few couples and singles ,I counted about 25

If you head to the beach from the main carpark turn right and walk west you with get to the nudist area after 400 metres

The beach isn't overlooked and you get plenty of privacy

Went to Calshot last October; was my first time on a beach and loved it. Shame it's pebbly but hey, can't have everything 🙂

Looking forward to getting back there as soon as the weather warms up a bit.

I have three issues with Calshot, the long drive down waterside (and the hoddird traffic in summer), the lack of parking, and the long walk (I don't see why Naturists have to have a long walk to every beach)

The beach itself is lovely.

Boundaries are there to be stretched!

Have you tried Lepe beach?

To be honest, the drive and the traffic remain the same.  Parking is a bit better at Lepe and I've only been there a couple of times and never found the Naturist bit.

it remains that Eastney is easier to get to for me.

Eastney is on my list this year. Definitely going to try and get out a bit more as soon as the warmth remains 🙂

I was at Calshot beach this afternoon, my first visit there.

The traffic wasn't too bad today on the A326 and then B3053 past Marchwood, Hythe and Fawley Power Station.  The road leads eventually to two car parks by the beach huts just at the one way system and the left fork towards the Calshot Activity Centre visible off to the left on the spit.  The car parks were almost empty, even though it was a sunny day in the school Easter holidays.

Leaving the car parks I walked onto the pebbly beach between the huts and turned right.  It was a fair hike to the naturist part (well, it seemed it because of the pebbles), past a gate with steps up to a tower and also a slipway.  In the naturist area there are plenty of groynes (so to speak...) and they give a bit of privacy.

Couldn't see any signs about naturists but there were about half a dozen of us scattered about.  Over the two hours I was there two fully clothed couples walked past but they didn't seem unhappy or embarrassed.

It was warm and sunny with a slight breeze, though the water was cold!  Great views over the Solent with ships, ferries, yachts and powerboats.

I really enjoyed it and will definitely go back.  The only thing missing was meeting some friends there, so if anyone is heading off that way hope I can join you.  Maybe a note here to see if we can meet up?  Am happy to give a lift if anyone's coming from the Forest / Cadnam / Totton areas.

visited today.  No-one told me that there is free parking on the one-way road away from the beach!

Following your helpful directions I walked all the way along the beach (about 500metres) until I reached re-inforced groynes stating "No entry" (beyond this point).

At that end there were a few single males, but (deep joy) a couple came along later...

With there being no thru -traffic I saw only one textile couple walking their dog and who said "Hi!".

So it's a relaxed beach.  Very few people anyway and plenty of room for
everyone.  Recommended.

Really glad you had a nice time there - I did like it too. Am also planning on doing some fishing there as soon as the weather maintains a decent termperature  🙂

I've been down there a couple of times, never seen anyone there. But to be fair it was usually after work!

More observations on this beach (on the subject of this beach, not on what I've seen when on the beach.... er, yes, those too..):

Those who would bemoan the walk to the naturist end need to look for the sandy, lovely band with few pebbles, about half way up the beach from the  sea.  On this you can walk with flip-flops.  I only wear boots cos I'm manly, not because the going is tough....

Talking of 'manly', there are some 'manly' goings-on at the far end, where the beach comes to an abrupt end because of the barrier.  Here you may chance upon masturbating males, who, though discreet, are noticeable, even without your glasses...

Mercifully, I haven't noticed manly goings-on along the rest of the naturist
section.  So keep 200 metres from the end if that sort of thing is not your thing...

After several visits I'm noticing more females.  One, young enough to be my daughter, said 'Hi!'  True naturism doesn't come better than this.

Textile dog-walkers come along occasionally but I've picked up on no tension.  I'm told that the police have been along to (politely) ask naturists to cover up if a party of schoolchildren is coming to study the area.  What greater measure of reasonableness is there?

This is an unofficial beach that doesn't need official sanction.  Provided that 'inappropriate' males keep out of the way, and that other males respect that naked females will feel  uncomfortable if you leer at them, or sit too close, this beach is as good as it gets...
